Do. Not. Quit. Don’t give up. Take Mircobio, take a&p2. Take all the classes you can right now for the degree. So you get better, AND when you apply and you WILL get in, you’ll have more knowledge and you won’t have to worry about the co-requisites while doing clinicals.

you got this

Don’t give up! What was your GPA and TEAS score? Try to continue taking other classes that you’re going to need to take in the nursing program like anatomy 2, microbio, etc. You can always replace a class to boost your GPA up. Or, retake the TEAS to get a better grade. And then try again in the Spring. Good luck! Keep your goal in mind and keep on trying!

Hey peeps, loving this thread. Is there some sort of group chat or private discussion board I can possibly join, I'm also a newly CityTech transfer student and I hope I also get in the upcoming nursing cohort. Thnxxx. ?

Did anyone reach out to their doctors yet for health clearance?

Please don't give up! I originally applied for Spring 2020, but I was rejected as well. I took an upper-level math course during that semester and I received an A. It increased my pre-req GPA and I got in for Fall, everything will work out in the end.

When I first applied, I had a 3.46 GPA and a 71% on my TEAS. It seems as though each semster the applicant pool gets more competitive. From what I was told, the Spring 2020 cut off GPA was a 3.52, I would recommend atleast applying with a GPA of 3.55 or above. When I took Math 1275 and received an A, my GPA increased to a 3.57 I believe, and I was able use the same TEAS score because it was within a year of taking it. I'm glad I can help, try not to beat yourself over it. I know easier said then done, but you'll get there eventually. Best of Luck❤️

Did you replace class with another class on your application?

I transferred here a few semesters ago from BMCC and the math I took over there was math 104 and I received an A-. It transferred over here as math 1190 which was 3 credits, so I took math 1275 which I earned an A in and it was a 4-credit course so it weighed a lot higher than math 1190 and increased my GPA.

Do the nursing department automatically replace a lower level course with a higher level course or the student must do that?
