Hi All,

Hey! I just transferred into city tech to do nursing. I'm also applying for the fall semester. I just need two more pre-reqs.

Hi there @Anny Welcome! What classes do you need? What are the pre-reqs ?

The pre-reqs are psych, english, A&P1, and algebra/trig. I already took psych and english.

I still need to take A&P1 (that's the reason why I transferred this semester instead of fall since hunter needs you to take chem+orgo as pre-reqs to taking A&P 1 along with the fact that city tech requires you to give a semester) and also Math 1275 (city tech won't accept stats lol). I'm in Math 1275coreq. Do you know the difference between math 1275coreq and regular math 1275?

I also read the city tech spring 2020 and saw that you applied for spring semester. Do you have any advice? Really excited but nervous.

@Anny I'm not too sure what the major differences are but I know it combines 1275 and I believe 1175. I'm currently enrolled in that course for spring , I need to earn at least an A for my gpa to improve. I applied for the spring semester, but I was rejected by a few points away from the cut off this semester. All I can say is really try your best and earn the height grade possible in the those classes as well as passing the TEAS.

Yeah I still have to register and take the TEAS. What time and day is math for you (if you don't mind me asking)? I have it on mo/we 6-8:30. They should accept math 1275coreq right? I took the accuplacer at hunter and that score transferred over. Should I retake the placement exam to try to get into math 1275 instead of math 1275coreq? Tbh I'm confident in math. I'm just worried about A&P1.

@Anny I came from a different school as well so they're only letting me take math 1275co, but I emailed the nursing dept and they said they accepted it so I don't think we have anything to worry about. I'm not too bad either at math but I definitely have to be on my p's and q's, anatomy is rough, I'm not going to lie. You must devote a certain amount of time EACH day to be successful in that class. I received a B- in that class but hell im proud of it, that was a very stressful class for me. I'm taking Math 1275co on Mon, Wed, and Fri from 6-7:40. My best advise for the TEAS is to really concentrate on the Reading and Math sections. For me, the Math saved me and ended up being my highest grade on the exam. Please feel free to reach out if there's anything else that I could help with.

Thank you. Yeah for the TEAS, I'm worried about the science section since I have not taken bio since 9th grade. Hopefully we both get into the program!

@Anny Yes, Science is a hard one, Especially Anatomy. If I may suggest, I suggest you wait till you finish Anatomy 1 and halfway through Anatomy 2 to take the exam. A bulk of the Science section on the exam contains both those courses combine and you need to have a basic understanding of both subjects to score decently on that percentile. I scored okay but enough to pass for that specific section. Like I said, really focus on the Reading and Math portions and you'll do good enough to pass once you have that basic understanding of the Science. If there are any other questions that you have, please feel free to ask. I hope we both get through this semester alive and into the program lol!

Same. I'm taking A&P 1 this semester, so if I want to apply/get in for fall then I will have to take the TEAS in the middle of the semester. Rip. Thank you! Let's see each other in the program. We got this!!

Hi there @Anny I switched my class to M/W class from 6-8:30.

Where you there as well?
