City Hospitals (HHC) Hiring ?

U.S.A. New York

I'm hearing this from different sources but don't personally know anyone who got hired. I spoke to the recruiter at Harlem and they are not hiring. Lincoln has not called me either. Has anyone heard that any city hospitals are hiring?

Looking for a ray of hope here.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm very happy to hear about the thorough orientation. I am not that far along in the process, but it is good to get an idea of what's coming up in the near future. I'll keep you posted on how things go...

BTW, any thoughts on the environment, culture of the Hospital would be appreciated. A.

ohh okay! thanks for the quick response! :)

Does anybody know what the etiquette is when it comes to the HHC's that don't have their openings posted online? Like Elmhurst Hospital? Should I just go to the hospital and apply/give them my resume even though I don't know if there are any openings? Thanks

congrats!!! :D good luck in orientation.. can't give you any pointers since I have yet to get an interview as a new grad! :p

i'd like to ask how long do you have to wait after you have finished physicals and fingerprinting for them(from the HR of a HHC hospital) to call you? do they give you an exam first before entering an orientation or they'll schedule you up for an orientation immediately once your results (physicals/fingerprint) are good? what id the probability or chance that i'll be hired by a HHC hospital once the HR scheduled you up for physicals/fingerprint exam/submitting I-9 related stuff? i hope someone will respond to my inquiry asap. thank you so much!:yeah: i hope i can have a work before this year ends.. it's hard having a nursing license without having a work..:nurse:

What is better? Paper application or online application??

hi... I went on an interview for an L&D position at Harlem Hospital in early September. I felt that it was a great interview and the 4 nurses that interviewed me really liked me. I was wondering if you are still on the unit??? If so do you like it? I haven't gotten an offer or rejection but the nurse recruiter told me that HR will be calling me. What does that mean?? If it's a NO I wish they would just tell me!! I've gotten a job offer somewhere else but it's for med-surg and I want the L&D b/c I'm eventually going to be a midwife!!! Help!!! any advice would be appreciated!!
