Hi ya'll,
So, can anyone tell me ANYTHING about Christus St. Catherine's new grad program in Katy?!
Got what looks like a secondary application and maybe even an interview there ((crossing fingers)), but can't seem to find anything on the message boards about it ... any input would be great. Just hoping they don't have 2 positions for each specialty and 1,000 applicants ......

From what I heard they are pretty good for a new grad to start. My classmates who had a clinical their enjoyed it as well. I filled out my application a few weeks ago but I need to turn in my letters of rec and my offical transcript which I will hand them on Wed. I just got the link for the background check after I applied. Did you get something in addition to that?
Yup I got that today, and I got a person email with two attachments which were instructions and a sheet to fill out. I'll be sending mine along Wednesday or Thursday too (I have to fax since I'm in Massachusetts!) .. Do you know how many spots are available on average for the internships? I'm trying not to get my hopes up!

I had clinicals at Christus St. Elizabeth which is like a sister hospital to St. Catherine and I loved it! I haven't heard much about St. Catherine though, but I have some friends who live in Katy that say that the the city itself is a great place to live :)
I also got a second application that I filled out but I still need to send them my official transcript and recommendation letters like Princess_Wannabe
I hope not too many applicants applied since they didn't have the posting up that long. I really would like their women services as my first choice. What about everyone else?
I'm big into cardiac so my first choice is critical care and second is telemetry. Id love icu top but I love hearts way more :)
^Mines the opposite of yours MissPamela19, I picked Telemetry first and ICU second :)
Ah awesome! I'm hoping we get interviews =) Anyone else hear anything yet?

I wish you luck! I think you'll love St Catherine. They recieved the TNA "Nurse Friendly" designation a few years ago and have maintained it very well. Very supportive of nurses in general, and new grads specifically. Another example of a great hospital that is not located in the medical center. The surrounding area has a wide variety of housing choices and you're only half an hour from downtown Houston if you get adventurous.
Best of luck!
Wow that is awesome to hear ... I just hope given the fact that theyve received a lot of applicants that I still get considered! Thanks for your input =)

Count me in too! I applied when they first posted the application but I need to fax the rest of my stuff too (I'm from Jersey). I'm going to do it Thursday -- only time I have the time to do it.
I'm like you MissPamela -- critical care is my top choice and telemetry is my 2nd! :)
For everyone who turned in their stuff did yall use one community and and academic or just two academic for the letters of recommendation
