Congrats Aimee!:balloons: I just got my results yesterday and I passed also!! I did alot better than I thought I would :chuckle
It's a great feeling, isn't it? Even if hardly anybody knows what the letters mean... my son (kidding) asked me, "Is that California Highway Patrol Nurse"?
Go away, kid. Ya bother me. :rotfl:

Pardon my lack of knowledge........ what does CHPN stand for?

I am looking for a way to prepare for the exam. Actually, I am looking for a good, well organized collection of information I can use to round out my understanding of the practice of palliative and hospice care. I figure if I do that, I can pass the exam.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Here's the more recent CHPN thread, although I'm not sure if it's specific enough for what you're seeking.

I took the exam in 2004 after being a Hospice nurse since 1999, and found it to be easy. I did prepare by going to a seminar and studying my McCaffrey pain manual some. But by and large, I found it to be an exam for the seasoned Hospice RN, and one who has not practiced for long would not do well. The answers to the problem solving come with actual practice.

Anyone who took the exam in Sept. 06 in Cola, SC heard anything yet? I'm on pins and needles.
I'm not in SC, but I'm waiting right along with you. Good luck to you.
