Assuming acceptance into all of the schools I applied to (I doubt it lol but fingers crossed anyway!!), how do you make your decision about which one to go to??
All of the schools are online and I have to find my preceptor for all of them.
The tuition pretty much ranges from $20,000- $40,000 for the entire program, not including books, out of state travel, etc.
Most of the schools are state universities so I think most of their reputations are ok.
Do you narrow it by cost? Or by location? How did any of you narrow down which program to go to?
University of North Dakota
University of Southern Alabama (heard some bad things on here about this program)
University of Alabama Birmingham
Eastern Kentucky University
Wilkes University (not responsive to phone calls/emails so far)
Drexel University (most expensive one)
St Louis University
I think it's a good program. I am learning a lot although it's mostly self taught. I took patho at EKU and they definitely have more PowerPoints there. They had really big class sizes though while Wilkes has very small class sizes. The other thing I like about Wilkes more is that our professors are actually our professors. At EKU we had graduate students grading us. The actual professors weren't that involved…no matter where you go there are going to be problems and good things. Good luck with your application! :)
Hi yes I graduated from the program two years ago. Most of the faculty are pretty good. But there are a few that are difficult to work with. Program can be disorganized at times but I think that is true of most online programs. The exams were all proctored. Most of them were curved which really aggravated me since I busted my butt to learn the info. I was prepared for boards. But I also devoted my whole life to learning everything I could...did way more than I was expected to. Quit my job and just focused on school. I think we had to do 50 hours in child adolescent and the rest could be whatever population wanted. I did everything though. I did hours in outpatient, mostly inpatient, geriatric, adult, and child and adolescent. I wanted a well rounded experience. Good luck with whatever you decide! All programs have their pros and cons but the end result is the same. I love my career!!!

Good Luck Everyone!
I just finished applying last week. By far the easiest application process ever....a little too easy you ask me, lol?
No essays, no letters of rec. Took my minutes to apply (apart from handling official transcripts).

Email or call Allie in admissions. She responds and should be able to get you some answers.
Also I'm in the MSN. I'm not getting my DNP unless my employer wants to pay for it!
