Hi everyone! I thought I would start a thread for CHOC Children's RN Residency that is starting in August 2020. I'm super excited to be applying to the NICU!

Fingers crossed for some good news in the coming months!

They gave the option between 5 days and times. I think they filled their spots internally

They emailed me, and it was the ED

That’s insane, does that mean that all the ED positions were filled in less than two days after applications closed?

WOW!! I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what it must've been like to get your hopes up for an interview. I hope you find an incredible ED job in the near future!

Just for clarification, does everyone's status say "under consideration"? Mine has had that status since I submitted it. Some of these systems don't say that until the apps have been reviewed but you never know haha

My app says Under Consideration as well

I applied to the ED and my application still says under consideration

When did CHOC say they would hold interviews? I remember seeing something about June 12th or 22nd on the site but cannot remember the exact dates.

Interviews will be conducted the week of June 22nd. Selected applicants will be contacted via phone or email by June 12th.

I feel pretty hopeless as far as pediatrics applications go - my school only offered us a pediatric daycare (1 RN on staff/day) for our peds rotation and only 2 days in NICU. Only a couple students got L&D/NICU for preceptorship and got cut off after 2 days, everyone else got adult rotations. PEDs is what I want to do but I feel like I am at such a disadvantage.

I applied to the CVICU fellowship. Interviewed last Friday. I did adult CVICU prior to going to NICU.
