Hi everyone! I thought I would start a thread for CHOC Children's RN Residency that is starting in August 2020. I'm super excited to be applying to the NICU!
Fingers crossed for some good news in the coming months!

Thanks for starting this! I will be applying to the NICU as well! Has anyone heard of any changes to the program (cohort size, in person/online classes etc) due to the pandemic?
Best of luck to everyone. ?

They actually didn't hire at all last round! My friend works on the unit and said they were revamping the program so they didn't take anyone. Fingers crossed for us all!

Last time, I only saw Mission available for the NICU so thats what I had applied to

oh WOW!! Well that would have been good to know in the last round LOL I felt so heart broken
Same here. I didn't look for Orange since I'm coming from the South, but I'd be open to either location! If I remember correctly, we can only apply to one new grad posting unit/location, right?

Wait, NICU unit specifically didn't take any new grads? Interesting. Wonder how the program changed. Has your friend said anything? And wish I knew that with my rejection, I might have felt a little better. LOL.
Yeah only one unit I think. I have a friend who works in the PICU and she told me that they're big on community service so make sure you have that listed in your resume, I didn't last time since I got this advice after

Yes! The CHOC in orange did not hire. She said they were just trying to make the new grad program a but more specific to NICU. Which is good for us!

Hello, I am applying to this next cohorts NICU for orange campus, just wondering if you knew they were still in the works of revamping the program? I will still apply regardless, but it is essential to know if theyre even looking for new grads

Does anyone know if you need to have BSN during the application period? I will finish my BSN this Summer before the cohort starts. Plus, I already have a Bachelor's of Science in Neurobiology. I tried to reach out to human resources and I haven't heard anything back.
