My week is going!! Finishing up with all the school stuff its kind of scary to tell the truth!! I can't wait to hear from CHLA and I am praying we all get that call/ interview:) hoping I can start plans on my next journey in life. Best wishes to all!! ;)

Hey! Congratulations on the last midterm! It's great to hear you are all doing well :) I'm keeping busy and always having an eye on my phone. Those long awaited calls should be coming soon!

Con -Grads to all future graduates and those getting ready to take the NCLEX. (REVIEW AS MANY QUESTIONS AS POSSIBLE). I pray will all hear something so we can start to celebrate and live up our summer.

Did you all do your senior precept in pediatrics

My capstone was in pediatric oncology

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Apparently there is a nasty intestinal bug going around here and I've caught it so I'm not feeling so well :( I'm actually doing my peds clinical right now so maybe one of those little dirty boogers gave it to me! ;)

My capstone was in the BMT unit at the ED at Duke. One of the top hospitals in the country so I'm hoping that helps me some. My peds clinical is at UNC, also one of the top hospitals in the country! I am liking peds right now so I'm excited to hear from CHLA. BTW did you guys know you can check the status of your application by using your log in information?? Yeah I just realized that so I'm excited because at least I'll know if I don't hear from them by checking online!

I may be getting a call from Duke about an interview for the ED and I'm super excited about that BUT I am from LA and I miss home every day AND my BF is a resident back at home SOOO I'll have some hard decision making to do. Has anyone ever faced a situation like that??? I'm so confused and torn because this Duke job is the job of my dreams but my heart belongs in LA!:banghead:

@ocennia

Sorry your not feeling well :( I hope you feel better real soon. You're not alone in the hard decision area!!! Follow your heart if you take Duke and want to move back at some point you will have experience and then it will be much easier to get a job anywhere. If CHLA calls then you can move with a job already lined up.

From what I have been reading its not easy for new grads to find a job like it used to be. That being said I have had to breath and say to myself "it's not up to me" I will go where the wind blows and have faith that am making the right decisions. You will make the right decision and you can always move anywhere after you have experience!! Sky's the limit for RN's with experience. Good luck keep me posted:)

thanks!! you're right. I guess beggars can't be choosers and there are so many more opportunities once you have one year of experience! why didn't anyone bother to tell us this when we decided to go to nursing school?? How long was your program? I am finishing up the accelerated BSN so it was 14 months. 14 months of pure hell

Lol Mine was two years with the summer :) we had to go on a medical missions trip to Bulgaria. It was very nice and heart braking I spent the summer in a Bulgarian orphanage. Learned so much there. I graduate in May :) can't wait. Unless you go through nursing school you have no ideal what its like lol I try and tell my family and friends but that don't understand how hard it is. Can't wait for my social life to get back on track haha. Looking forward to some all year sunshine fingers crossed for CHLA...

Bulgaria??!?? That is so amazing!!! We had no time for that unfortunately. Is this your first degree? I decided to do the 14 month program because I have a master's already in bio and the idea of going back to school was a very hard decision!

Where did you go to school??? Oh AND I just got an interview at Duke!! for the ED which is my dream job!!!!

I am so excited for you!!! You will have to keep me posted on the interview wow nice... And you have a masters already that's great. Me this is my first degree lol took me forever because I had to work and go to school. Long road but its almost here now ;) I am at Shorter University it's a great school they are an old school but just started a nursing program. I will be the second graduating class for nursing. Bulgaria was amazing but a lot of work. We had classes we had to take plus clinical time. Once in a life time trip for sure and I am so glad I got to go. Wow I am really excited for you. When is your interview? Is it pediatrics ? And are they still taking applications lol ? Lots of questions haha at this point I am will to move anywhere:) maybe not anywhere I need the sunshine ;)
