Hi all,
I was just wondering who has applied to CHLA's residency this time around, and if you've heard anything back! The application was up during the first half of last week. Good luck to everyone! :)
Just got a rejection e-mail for 5W after the speed interview. Sad and hard to not take it personally since the 10-minute interview was essentially a personality interview. Not sure if I will try again next round.
I'm sorry to hear that . Don't take it personally, you never know what is being looked at or exactly why you weren't chosen, there could be a lot of reasons. Once I couldn't figure out why I hadn't been selected for an ADN program when I had been selected for a BSN program, it was bugging me so I asked and t turned out they could only choose a certain number of people from each GPA range. So it actually didn't have anything to do with me personally, and it gave me piece of mind to learn that. You could always ask what you could improve on before the next time you apply. You shouldn't give up on it if it's something you really want to do. Best of luck to you!
Just had my second interview on 4 West this morning and all the nurses in the panel were SO nice and made me want to work there even more. They said they will be making their decisions this week! (holy cow) Good luck to everyone interviewing this week! :)
That is so exciting I'm happy for you! I have mine tomorrow I am so nervous. I sent you a private message the other day but I'm not sure if you check those. Did they happen to say how many they're hiring for the unit?

Well, I have only had this one interview, so I am not sure I am qualified to give advice, but I can try to help you. I didn't do anything in particular, I just put together a resume and cover letter that were professional and reflect what I have done to pursue nursing as a career. If you want to message me we can try to improve on your stuff. We also have a career center at school to help with resumes, cover letters, interviewing, etc. I did not utilize ours (but I probably should), so that may be something else you can look into. Good luck to you!
