  1. Thank you, that information is very helpful. They said on the phone that the start of care visit is $80 and all the other visits are less than that. They gave me the amounts but I don't remember exactly just that $80 is the highest. I don't have a lot of experience in nursing in general and none in home health so I wanted to make sure I'm not being taken advantage of before I go in and sign paperwork. The good thing is they work in three counties and you can select the specific cities you want to work in, but the position is per diem so I do need to find out about the scheduling like you mentioned.
  2. I currently work full-time at a hospital but I'm looking to add a home health Perdiem job. I have an interview with one company so far, I know they are pay per visit and I was just wondering what the current pay per visit rate are in southern California? The company is very close to my house and I'm able to select the cities I want to work in which is an added bonus, but I want to make sure I'm not being underpaid and the Company is on the up and up with everything. Aside from the pay is there anything I should look out for, any red flags when considerkng a HH company?
  3. Hi Guys, I just graduated from the A-BSN at CSUF in May and we NEVER had a cool nursing sweatshirt. So after I graduated I put together this order form for anyone who wants to order. You pay CustomInk on the website, and the entire order will be sent to the School of Nursing office. Please share with anyone you think would want one. 4. The waiting continues. I guess I am still on the waitlist since I haven't heard from them. Has anybody else who is waitlisted heard anything?
  5. I PM'd you 🙂
  6. Thank you so much, you make some excellent points. I had not thought about the calculations I will need to become familiar with for pediatrics. I think I will aim for pediatrics if I don't get into pediatric oncology right away. Thanks for the advice!
  7. That is incredible, thank you so much!!! I hope you got your dream job!!!! And I hope they call me back [emoji2]
  8. Thank you so much for writing this, your responses to others were especially helpful because I get asked those questions every time I tell people I want to work in pediatric oncology. Pediatric oncology is my goal, and the reason I decided to become a nurse. I am a new grad waiting to take my NCLEX. I was wondering if I could ask your opinion? I have applied for all of the available pediatric oncology new grad programs in my area, if I do not get into one do you think I should try to focus on getting a job in pediatrics, or getting a job in oncology? My ultimate goal is to work in pediatric oncology, so I want to get the experience that will help me get there and be the best nurse. Best case scenario would be to get a peds onc new grad program, but I need to have a plan B. Thanks in advance for your help!
  9. I got a call today (2 weeks after my second interview) and I was told I am the alternate for hem/onc. I won't have a for sure yes/no until mid-August. After not hearing anything for so long I was pretty sure I was out of the running, so I am glad to hear that I still have a chance, and that I was considered a strong enough applicant to be on the backup list.
  10. Any more updates?
  11. Thank you everyone for the updates. Still no news for me but I'm staying positive! Pinning tomorrow, graduation Sunday and Disneyland on Monday, so I have a lot to look forward to (and keep me distracted).
  12. I haven't heard back at all yet and my second interview was on Tuesday. I am hoping they aren't done making calls. I interviewed on 4W, but I think it was for 4W, 4E and BMT since there were staff there from all three units. I am trying not to get discouraged, but I can't imagine they wouldn't make all the calls for the unit the same day. I am going to stay positive though!!!
  13. Congratulations! What time did they call?
  14. In our class I think at least 2-3 alternates were added, not sure about this last cohort though. Good luck to you! Let me know if you have any other questions.
  15. That is so exciting I'm happy for you! I have mine tomorrow I am so nervous. I sent you a private message the other day but I'm not sure if you check those. Did they happen to say how many they're hiring for the unit?
