Hi everyone.
I am planning on applying to Chico states' Nursing program for spring start. I just got my acceptance letter for the school itself, but have no yet applied to the program yet.
I just want to know about the school a little more. I wanted to see what everyone thinks about the city itself and the school, the good and the bad.
If you can just tell me your opinions about the academics, the staff, and faculty I would love to hear.
I would also appreciate what you think of the people and the city itself.
I have a tour scheduled for in a few weeks, but I really would like to hear what other people think too.
Thank you! :)
Yikes! Do you know how long it takes your school to process it?
I had a transcript sent from a community college and they took two weeks just to process my paper and then took another week for nursing cas to get it.
But for sjsu, it processed in like 2 days and was received by nursingcas like 2-3 days after.
My CC normally takes 3-5 days to process the transcript and get them sent out, but they do have choices. I opted for my transcript to be processed and mailed the next business day on Monday so hopefully it should've been sent out on Tuesday morning. This cost me a bit more, but I didn't mind since I knew I had a time crunch.
Hmmmm, I wonder why Nursing CAS took longer to process your CC transcript and not your SJSU one. Hopefully mine gets processed as fast as your SJSU one did. ):
Have you checked nursingcas to see if they received it yet? I just got an email from them saying that my application has been verified.
I hope I get the points for language and work as well. I asked during advising and she said i'll most likely get it, which would leave me at 87.75 if i get all the points i counted for. I wish my grades were better then i'd have 2 or 3 more points.
I've been checking the website every day since I requested my transcript. I don't know if they work on the weekends since their customer service hours are only Monday-Friday. Our applications don't need to be verified by November 1, do they? As long as our paperwork and such are turned it right?
Your points seem like it would be good enough for the original cut-off, before alternates. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for you!
I think as long as you turned in all your stuff and submitted the application by Nov 1, you should be good to go. I read something yesterday that once your application is submitted, the designated school can see the application in "real time".
I'm hoping!. I signed up for the teas 4 times. I only took it 3 times though because i woke up late one day. I had to keep trying just to get a 90 to ensure that I could get in. Wasted so much money!
Now if only my grades were better, i'd get even more points. Haha
Yeah It would be nice to get the spot, or at least be an alternate that is less than 10 on the list. It'd be nice to actually meet the people I talk to about this stuff.
Okay, that's good to know. I'm still nervous about my transcript. I'm really hoping I get an e-mail or see it on the website by Wednesday latest. I know deadline is next Friday though. Keeping my fingers crossed everyday!
At least the last time you took it was worth it! It gave you the full 20 points for the TEAS portion. As for grades, I got lucky with mine. I thought Chico wanted only Organic Chem for their Chemistry section, but they take General Chem too, and that's the class I got an A in. Otherwise, my points wouldn't be so high. I'm also glad that they only take the top 2 in each category; that helped me out big time.
But yeah, I want to be able to meet you guys too. Hopefully we all get in the program together.
I'm sure if you rushed it, nursingcas will receive it soon.
Yeah I'm glad by how they do the points. I got A's in all science classes except Micro, because I got sick and ended up failing an exam. Literally got an F.
As for the non-science classes, I got Bs in everything because I was part of a program, that covered all those GE courses and I got a B in the program.
i really hate that it takes so long for us just to find out.

It's gonna depend on what day of the week you send it and where you live. It took about a week I think for me.
