Chico State University Reviews

Published

Hi everyone.

I am planning on applying to Chico states' Nursing program for spring start. I just got my acceptance letter for the school itself, but have no yet applied to the program yet.

I just want to know about the school a little more. I wanted to see what everyone thinks about the city itself and the school, the good and the bad.

If you can just tell me your opinions about the academics, the staff, and faculty I would love to hear.

I would also appreciate what you think of the people and the city itself.

I have a tour scheduled for in a few weeks, but I really would like to hear what other people think too.

Thank you! :)

I barely submitted my application a couple of days ago. I hope the processing time doesn't affect my application if they don't process it in time.

It will be fine. As long as your transcripts are there on time.

You can check the status on the NursingCAS website too. But I think they are usually pretty quick.

It took a couple of weeks once I sent mine for them to be processed. But as long as the transcripts are there by the first then you'll be fine.

My transcripts were received by the beginning of October.

I'm like reading old posts about chico state nursing program now just to see what old applicants scores were. haha. Majority of them who were worried ended up getting in even as alternates.

The advisor said they took 38 alternates for the current semester. That's promising.

Yeah I heard that too. But i was also told it really just varies. I was reading other discussions about having to get vaccinations and a cpr card and stuff before entering the program otherwise they take back your admission.

I wonder exactly what vaccinations they require.

Did you look at Chico states website? It shows the cutoff points for the past few years. Last semester was 87, got down to 85 after alternates. But before last semester it was always low 80s.

They have them listed on their website, but you have to dig. Hep b, mmr, tdap, meningitis, chicken pox (or immune), flu, and TB test.

Where did you find the cutoff for last year? I tried looking but it just says TBD.

Also, I read another post you made, and you said you knew a handful of people with 90+ points? How many is a handful? Haha.

And thanks for the immunizations. Now I just have to find a way to obtain my medical records.

It has all of them but they told us last semesters at the advising session. I know about 5 90+ students.

Hmm. That's weird for me all i see is fall 2013, 193 applicants, cut off: TBD., alternate: TBD.

Think you can send me the link to what you're looking at?
