Chico State University Reviews

Published

Hi everyone.

I am planning on applying to Chico states' Nursing program for spring start. I just got my acceptance letter for the school itself, but have no yet applied to the program yet.

I just want to know about the school a little more. I wanted to see what everyone thinks about the city itself and the school, the good and the bad.

If you can just tell me your opinions about the academics, the staff, and faculty I would love to hear.

I would also appreciate what you think of the people and the city itself.

I have a tour scheduled for in a few weeks, but I really would like to hear what other people think too.

Thank you! :)

I'm working on ordering books now. As far as sections go, I'm hoping for section 2 because it's at Enloe and I am NOT a morning person.

I want section 1. Because it's early. I'm not a morning person either but i also dont to be having classes start so late. I feel like my day gets wasted.

I looked up ratemyprofessor and it says the professor is hard. So i'm nervous. Haha.

I checked ratemyprofessor too, haha. From my last experience, I tend to get along well with the professors that are "hard"- the last time I chose an "easy" one he absolutely hated me and I got lower grades in both classes I had with him. He absolutely tore my group apart in our final presentation in our capstone 500 level class. Ugh.

I normally do good with the "easy" one. But i did have a "hard mean lady" once and she was super nice and she liked me. Haha. So i'm taking a chance!

@k2115, who did you contact about the books? I'm ordering the first set of books and I have a question about the Medical-Surgical Nursing book. I looked it up on Elsevier and all they have is the e-book for the 8th edition. But I also know there's a 9th edition out, so I'm wondering which one we should order.

Especially since they have multiple typos in our packet and P**** told me to get the newest editions of every book.

There's a green sheet called clinical scrubs and supplies, and her number is at the bottom.

The only book I have left is the additional required book. Publication manual of the American psychological association.

Needless to say, my bank account has taken a big hit. Can't wait for financial aid.

The only book i need left is the Medical -surgical nursing one, but they dont have the hard copy of the book. Did you get the hardcopy or ebook?

Yeah... Mine too. :( already half a grand gone and i still got one more book!

Hey guys, I checked my certified profile and I still haven't gotten information about where to take my drug test at :/ How long did it take for your location to show up? It's been about 2-3 days since I signed up for certified profile and nothings showing..

Also, I haven't even ordered my books.. I feel like I'll order the wrong one. ): @jennybewbs, I'm going to email you about the books.

I've definitely spent more than that on all mine. Between all 10 books, it'll probably end up being around $700.

I got my med surg on amazon. I bought the bottom list from the supplier.

For the physical examination and health assessment book, did you guys buy the package with the health assessment online or did you buy them separately?

@k2115, I think i'll be paying around $700 too. Their estimates on the books were off for me. I couldn't get the prices they listed on the paper. Haha.

I was thinking about purchasing from amazon too, but after P**** telling me we need like online access, i'm like nervous and worried that I might not get that off amazon now. But only the Physical examination one really needed an online access thing. So I'm like like dhdhsdhsjkhfjsfhdsfk. Haha.

@AB92, Check your messages on certified. They send you a message about downloading something.

@k2115, Also…. Did you buy the 2 volume book for med-surg or the 1 volume one?
