***Chemistry - Fall 2005***

Who else is taking Chemisrty this semester? I thought maybe we can check in with each other, and help each other out.

If there is enough of us maybe we can even get a sticky.

I am taking Health Science Chemistry 1.

Sorry to hear this. I am getting nervous about starting classes on Monday. I hope things get better for you. Once I start class I can than ask what areas are you having trouble in. I still haven't gotten all of my textbooks because they are on backorder. :(

Well I had chem class for the 3rd time today. We have our first quiz this Friday and I am lost. I do not understand any of it , I can't even figure out how to work my dang calculator:eek: I thought at first it wasn't going to be so bad. I was wrong.

I'm screwed and scared to death that I will fail this class. I am going to meet with my instructor tomorrow. I told him today that I am completely confussed.

Ya'll say a prayer that I'll catch on to chemistry, and quick!

We had our first lab last night.

My chem partner wants to blow up the lab! :nono:

He is so scary!!!

OMG..lol!!!!

I want to partner up with a brainiac! Should I stereotype & sit with a smart looking person? hahahahahahaha :specs:

That's so funny that you said that. He looks at me and he's like...are you smart? I'm like..umm at this no!! He REALLY seems to know what he's doing in the lab portion (or he's just over confident and is compensating :p ) and he seems to know all the answers? :lol2:

Maybe I lucked out? We'll have to see???? That was only the first lab!

As long as he doesn't blow me up or spill acid on me, we'll be ok! :D

lol....It's always nice to partner up with someone that can explain things on your level. Sometimes instructors forget that we are students there to learn something we've never learned before. :p

I start my Chemistry class tomorrow and I am PETRIFIED! I have an awful math and science background, but NEED to pass this class with at least a B to even be considered for the RN program next fall. I failed chemistry in high school and never took it in college. And, the only way I got through Algebra in college was doing an independent-study type thing where the teacher worked with only me. I could never have done with without her. Needless to say, I am sooo nervous. I figure if I don't pass this Chemistry class now, I am going to look into being an LPN, as the Chemistry is not a requirement for that. Wish me luck!

I'm taking Introductory Chemistry for Today, God help me i'm sooooooooooo lost

Your not the only one. I'm lost too!

i made flashcards yesterday to learn my elements from the periodic table. i'm not doing too bad on those!!

however all these bonds are driving me crazy (ionic, covalent blah blah blah!!)

do you have to know all of them? what do you have to learn? (atomic weight, #, symbol, type, period, group....etc)

no, need to know about 30 of them. just need to know their symbols and the names that go with. we don't need to memorize each atomic weight but do need to know how you get atomic weight and mass #. which luckily i have down! (at least i think!)

well, i hope my instructor does the same. i can handle that. i know most of the symbol/names already. i'll have to study up on the #'s/weights if he requires those, but i'm hoping overall that he doesn't make us learn all of them.
