Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am starting Chem II this semester. Anyone want to start a club???

My school droppped both Chem and Nutrition as pre-reqs into the nursing program! Yippee for me because I am not too good at Science stuff. Good luck to all you people taking it!!!:jester:

I took Chem II last semester but I dropped it because I did not like the teacher. I am taking it again, so hopefully I will get an A!!! This is also my last semester of pre-req's. I am taking Micro as well, but I am more worried about Chem....oxidation and reduction really threw me for a loop. I got an A in 101. We shall see. Anyone in Louisiana?

hey i got a question. my school does not require you to have chemistry, but is it going to make nursing school a little more duable. not easy but more learnable. anyone with a answer please reply.

Okay, I just bought my textbook for General Chem. It is a new release so I couldn't buy used. The cost was $168.00, I then had to pay $408 for the course and another $35 for supplies. YIKES!!!!

Specializes in LTC.

Here is my problem:

KBr+MnO2+H2SO4>Br2+MnBr2+KHSO4+H2O

Here is my wrong solution:

8KBr+2MnO2+8H2SO4>2Br2+2MnBr2+8KHSO4+4H2O

Can anyone tell me why this is not the right answer and offer the correct way to solve? Thanks to anyone who can help with this stuff!

I took Intro to Organic/Bio but dropped it because of the instructor simply power pointed too quickly through the chapters. But mainly because the school had no tutors. So, I am will be trying to add the course at another college-another community college that has 3 hrs of free tutoring services!

i am starting chem II on thursday! i took chem I over the summer but the teacher went through everything too slowly and now i'm worried i won't be prepared for this class. we'll see how much review the teacher does - hopefully i won't be too lost. good luck everyone...

It might be to late for it to matter, but the only thing I can see that might cause your prof to mark it wrong is that it can all be divided by two. I know we had to reduce all our coefficients to the lowest whole numbers possible.

Hope that helped!

Peace,

Cathie

I got my grades for my summer Chem class (a survey class of general, organic and biochemistry)....I got an A!!! I'm very relieved!!!

Not that it really matters, I just needed a C....the class isn't a pre-req for the nursing program, just for A&P1....so, the grade won't be included when I apply....but it did make me feel good to get the A.

Our school makes you take the survey chem class as well as cellular biology at the same time before taking A&P1 and I some how manged to get an A in both

It's just a big relief, these were my first science classes in over twenty years, and I didn't do so well the last time around.

So, now I get a whole month off (yippeee!!!!) until I start class again on Sept 25. I'll start A&P1 as well as writing, Psych, and nutrition.

Peace,

Cathie:wink2:

I would love to join and learn about chemistry. Unless the prereq is to know a lot about it before coming in.

I just finished my first week in Organic Chemistry. WOW. It sure is different from Inorganic Chemistry. I think it's interesting, I just need to keep up on the reading and figure a way to study the material and put it all together. So, I am definitely interested in joining a study group too. We can exchange study tips, simplify some of the materials by examples/analogies, etc. Great! Let's do it!

Specializes in none but hope to have one soon.

Hello everyone!

Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

Find the density of 1 cubic foot of copper. (The mass of copper is 63.55g)

The answer I got is 0.0022424g/cc. If it is wrong can you show me how to get the correct answer?

Thanks!

Kimberly

I am taking Organic Chemistry this semester and I am pretty nervous about it.
