Anyone else getting ready to apply for the 2018 nursing program?

That's amazing, congrats!! Was the test what you were expecting it to be?

I am so SO happy to be done with that exam!! I took it today at 1 as well!! I damn near gasped when I saw my grade of 91.

Thank you so much!! Yes, for the most part. Math and reading were pretty simple. Got 100% on both of those. The writing was really subjective and the passages were just awful examples. Lol. The science was specific and random but not something that made me feel completely lost. Some were best educated guess scenarios. I got low 80s on the writing and science sections.

So guys here comes my grade... a 78%! I really do suck at taking tests. I'm very disappointed, but I tried my best. I tried calculating my points and it looks like I'm going in with 294 points total. I don't think I'll get accepted, but maybe I'll be an alternate? I'm not sure. Anyways good luck to everyone who will be going into taking this entrance exam.

Brittany, that's definitely not a no! You never know what the cohort of applicants is going to be like. I'm hoping you'll make the alternate list for sure! And a couple years ago they went through 19'of their 20 alternates!

That's okay Brittany. There's still a chance. If it makes you feel any better I only got an 81%. Just trying to think positive thoughts and hope for the best.

Hey Brittany, don't lose hope yet!! I got an 81% and I'm not feeling too great about it either. But who knows what may happen! My hope now is to atleast get on the alternate list and try again next year more prepared and with 5 extra points. It's kinda crazy to me that this ONE test can be such a determining factor on getting into the program.

Thanks guys! I'm trying to stay optimistic. It is crazy how many points ride on this entrance exam. I had full points going in too. I'm hoping they send out acceptance/alternate/denial emails sometime soon. I hope we don't have to wait until June for them.

I'm with you!! I'm still hoping for the best but also preparing myself for the worst just in case

Nice Job Amsuger!

Brittney.perkins, I'm sorry you had a rough go. I don't think that acceptance is out of the question, though. It doesn't seem that far off total, but its hard to know what is a good score. Don't go making plans just yet!

Last year I took the exam and got an 81. They ended up only accepting 40 people and had 28 alternates. I started as alternate 20 and by the beginning of term was alternate 7.

I just found out a couple weeks ago that they are now longer giving people the extra 5 alternate points anymore. When I talked to health sciences at Chemeketa, they told me that they did not know yet if they would be accepting 40 or 48 people this year, but they did confirm that they no longer give out the 5 extra alternate points. So, I decided to go ahead and retake the test this year rather than use my score from last year. I ended up getting a 92, which really surprised me, but I'm happpy because I was really worried when I found out about not getting alternate points.
