Chemeketa 2017 RN entrance

Published

Anyone else applying for the 2017 entrance? I'm taking CHEM 110 and BIO231 this fall, and hoping to take BI 232, 233, PSY 201 and CIS 101 this winter before applying. I already have a bachelors degree which should cover the other pre-reqs. Do you basically have to have a perfect score to get in? Does anyone know more about it? Their information is so lacking!

I just got my letter, IM IN AT CHEMEKETA!!!!

I got mine too!!! My sister got in as well! She had 310points. Im so excited!!! We all will be together!

Congrats you guys!! So proud of everyone, i know weve all worked so hard for this. I just need that one person to decline to get in!! Haha

Does any one know when the deadline is to accept/decline OHSU or Chemeketa? It's weird that the email doesn't say...

Also I wonder how quick they notify alternates if they made it!?!? Eek

I'm declining my spot at Chemeketa for OHSU so you're in!!!!

May 15th for Chemeketa :)

For chemeketa it is may 15! I know you will get in. Last year 19 alternates got in and the year before that about 10 got in. And especially if they find another teacher thats 8 more alternates to bring in!

I'm declining my spot at Chemeketa for OHSU so you're in!!!!

You are the best!!! Haha congrats to us!! What was your deciding factor for choosing ohsu over chemeketa if u don't mind me asking?:)

I got in!! I had 304 points. I am guessing the last few they had to draw names for which sucks but glad you will get in anyways!! So exciting. Did anyone read the flyer about the immunizations? Wonder if they want us to get them after June 15th?

Chemeketa deadline is May 15.

I'm 8th on the alternate list for Chemeketa. Anyone else hear today?

I don't mind! First, it's right close by to where I live, and also I really like OHSU's mission and teaching practices. They're big on teaching their nurses on incorporating compassionate care, innovative research methods, and top notch clinical treatment to their patients, which really appealed to me. It's also my dream to one day work at Dorenbecher in the NICU so by being an OHSU grad, I just might be able to land my dream job in that hospital since they're affiliated with OHSU. However, I spoke with a charge nurse recently and he told me that Chemeketa is also a great choice. Chemeketa students have more clinical training than any other community college nursing program and have one of the highest nclex pass rates. I was torn for a while there, wondering what I would do if I got into both, and I finally just decided it would be best to go with OHSU. Congrats to you and good luck;)

I think that's great! It sounds like you're making a great choice!! So excited for us to start our journeys! Oh, also I know someone that graduated Linfield and within the first year of graduation (if I remember correctly) got a job at doernbechers! So it's a possibility!!:)
