Hi!! Anyone here take their Chemeketa Kaplan exam this week?

Have you applied anywhere else? Because Chemeketa's selection process is very objective (between considering only grades and the Kaplan score essentially). You may have better luck with a program that focuses less on how well you do on one standardized test and looks at you more holistically. For example, I know Linn-Benton gives points for work experience as a CNA on their application. If you have been pursuing nursing for this long, it seems you have a passion for it! I wouldn't give up. I hope you get in this year though.

Also, 331 is a great score! These pools of applicants are extremely competitive. I imagine if you could score this high by Chemeketa's standards, you'd score high by other schools' standards as well.

This was my second time applying and I only applied to CCC. I think you stand a better chance this year than last year tbh. Is it Kaplan points that are lowering your total or classes?

What about Concordia or Warner Pacific's new program? More expensive but you get your BSN and they have some scholorships to help with the cost. My friend went to Concordia and got her BSN 2 years ago, no waitlist at that time. She applied for the Ford Scholorship and got it all paid for, so lucky!

I’ve only been applying to Chemeketa, it works due to my location. I’ve looked at other community colleges and they all offer extra points in other areas that I wouldn’t get points for. Chemeketa, although very competitive seems to me seems to be the most doable location, and finance wise. Thank you! I’m crossing my fingers!

I hope you get in, I really mean that. I think that 40-48 students being accepted will work in your favor. Fingers crossed! It’s frustrating.. I didn’t get in last year and that was heart breaking.. it’s hard. If it truly is what you want to do I don’t think you should give up.
Thank you for the encouragement. I don't think I will fully give up on nursing but might just pursue something else in the medical field.

It's the Kaplan points that are killing me. I have full points for all pre-reqs. Last year I scored an 82% on the Kaplan and this year I scored an 85%.

I thought Concordia was closing their doors? And I didn't know Warner Pacific had a nursing program. I'll have to look in to that. Thank you! You're friend was super lucky!

I believe St Paul concordia took over but it's still at the Portland campus. You'd have to double check me. If I remember right, they have 2 to 3 start times a year.

It’s soooo hard to just sit here and wait but there’s nothing else we can do at this point.. I wish we could know sooner!
