Hey! I thought I would start a thread for those who applied for Chemeketa's program this year in hopes to begin Fall 2015. I just did my essay yesterday afternoon :) I know it's rare to get in your first try, and I would need full points on my essay to even have a chance, but it would still be neat to keep in touch with some others who have also applied! Good luck everyone! I would love to hear from you!
Well Sanguiano, at least you are alternate #8. The program blew through 17 alternates last year, so you have a great chance of still getting in :) Lots of people accept offers from other colleges before Chemeketa gets back to them.
I actually don't know if I am in or not as I haven't heard anything yet. I got a B in BI231 and have 358 points too. I read that an A or a B in BI231 are treated with the same weight - even for the tie breaker. That is what I was told at a nursing workshop as well. Plus I tripled checked - as did my friend.
I am still not sure the emails are staggered. My friend got her email Wednesday 5/27/2015 at 1:40pm. She didn't get in and wasn't an alternate. I would imagine that alternates received their emails sometime after that though.
What exact time and date did everyone receive their emails?
My friend got an email telling her she didn't get in and she is not an alternate. Her total points were 355.5 I think. I know she missed at least 4 but it could have been 4.5...
This leads me to believe the pool of applicants have unusually high points because that score would have gotten someone on the alternate's list - last year anyway. According to this thread, someone with 358 and a B in BI231 is alternate #8.
I still think that no news is good news. I just emailed the program and asked if notifications are sent staggered or what.
I will try to call nursing admissions for more information here in a sec.

Actually, I started this thread so fellow applicants could connect and communicate through this process. There is information thrown at each one of us and one great thing about this site is you can share what you've heard and get feedback. The last thing I would do to anyone is try to "psych" them out. Feel free to start your own thread if you feel that might be better for you.
