why the ched took so long in coming up the list of school with poor performance , they should have act years back then not only now...anyway its better late than never..i hope with these publication, people planning to enroll in nursing must be acquainted on the school concerned and blacklist and reinforce the law set forth vested in the ched. to redeem the status of nursing in the phillipines!
CHED is pretty well tied up by the courts from forcing closure. However, at least they are exposing the really bad schools to the light of day by publishing their record of failure. The other bad news is that these are schools who have been existing for the past 5 years. There are a few hundred MORE schools that are less than 5 years old but did not make the list as of yet. Some of the new schools have a ZERO percent passing rate 2 years in a row!! I only hope CHED posts ALL schools, regardless of how long they have been in business, who fail to make the national average of at least 46%.
A good start, at least!!

i strongly agree!!! :-)
University of Pangasinan was included in this list which is kinda surprising. I recognized most of the universities included in the list from northern luzon which isn't really surprising but the funny thing is when we were undergoing hospital training these were the schools that made the bulk of student nurses training in the hospitals.

CHED flunks 147 nursing schools
A TOTAL of 147 public and private schools face closure of their nursing courses after their graduates performed below the national passing percentage rate of 46.14 for the past five years, the Commission on Higher Education said Friday.
Agency Chairman Emmanuel Angeles provided reporters with a list of the schools, saying by publicizing the names "they will be forced to improve their performance."
"With this move, we are helping not only the parents and students to carefully choose the nursing schools they want to go to," Angeles said.
The agency's list, which includes four government universities and 11 other state institutions, is as follows:
