cheating scandle at my school

how stupid is the school for posting the test and not somehow blocking it from being downloaded and/or printed.

Sounds like it's going to be an interesting day in school.

Not in my classes - this time last yr there was a BIG cheating ring with up to 20+ students gaining access to yr 12 examination answers - numbers got as high as 70 suspected. :eek:

There has been a big crack down on cheating since - including Universities.

they downloaded it onto a floppy disk while they were taking it. after you complete the test its locked so you cant veiw it.

There was a big issue at my school with the semester ahead of me. Someone was hacking into the school's computers and getting the tests. They got "caught", so to speak. They couldn't pin anyone down, but they started using other schools' question database, and something like 10-12 students failed out at the end of the quarter, when not many people had been failing out previously. It's really sad that this happened. I wouldn't want those people taking care of me!

I had this one person sitting next to me in a micro test and was asking me for answers. Lucky the test was in esay format, she tried to read my answers but hey what can i say i write like chicken scratch.

As long as the teacher can read it i am ok with that :)

a group of people in fourth semester that got some of the tests from people that took fourth semester when they were in third semester.

It seems that the first two semesters that the school I did my distance learing through actually let the the students take their tests distance as well, meaning at home or where ever they used the computer. So the rumor was that people were given these test from the fourth semester before them. N E way somebody got caught with a test and the whole thing caused major problems and about 1/2 the class had to retake tests and then they made massive comprehensive final. I beleive they lost about a third of the original class.

Isn't it funny how everybody has been touched by this. People will always find a way to cheat.

CCU NRS hit the nail on the head, people will always find a way to cheat. Since the beginning of time in the little one room schoolhouse, students have been trying to take shortcuts and outsmart everyone. Now it's high tech with computers, but it all boils down to the same thing. I remember a similar discussion about cheating awhile ago, and someone else also hit it - you can't cheat on the boards!! :confused:

Here in Oklahoma they have upgraded the systemhere is how it goes.

You arrive you show two forms of ID and your authorization to test letter. You place your thumb on the print machine then you sign a form swearing that you will not cheat and that if caught cheating you forfiet all lrights regaring NCLEX exam, you are taken to a locker and informed to empty your pocket into the locker and you are given the key. Then you go to the door having never been out of site of the person who took you to your locker at which time you must again place you thumb on the identifier thingy, then ytou are admitted to the testing area, youare informed that if you have to leave at anytime beofre the test is over you will not be readmitted and the entire room is under camera survellience.

Believe me, you are right when you say that people will find a way to cheat. Our professors tell a story about one test a few years ago when, after a test a water bottle was found in the trash that had notes written on the inside of the label for the bottle. Unfortunately there was no way to pinpoint the guilty party, put there are still some professors in my program that will not let drinks into the exam

I took a certified personal training exam - something where they cram all the A&P and kinesiology into your head over a 3-day weekend and you test at the end. What I'm saying is small stakes, not like a nursing degree. And the jerk next to me was trying to cheat! Over something so small! I was SOOOO angry! I wouldn't answer him and moved my paper. I still work with this loser and I have absolutely no respect for him.

If they choose to cheat now, before they get to boards, they will never pass the boards.
