Hello Everyone! I've found it super helpful and encouraging reading previous threads from Chattahoochee Tech's ASN hopefuls in the past. I was really hoping to start a thread for anyone who is planning on applying for Chattahoochee Tech's ASN program this Fall of 2017 - this way, we can share helpful information with each other and provide words of encouragement for one another. Anyone who wants to comment or ask any questions is more than welcome to! I hope that we all get in!!!!
Hello, my name is Ashley and I am looking to apply in 2018 and I was wonder if CTC only does admissions for nursing in the fall or is there a summer application as well, thank you.
Also what classes are needed to apply and what happens if you retake a class? do they average the grades together and score all attempts or do they take the highest grade?
Currently each class starts in August and finishes in December of the following year. They usually start information/application sessions in January.
Prerequisites can be found here: http://www.chattahoocheetech.edu/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/AssociateofScienceinNursingProgramAdmissionInformationFALL2017.pdf
They will accept your highest grade. Hope this helps!
Thank you for letting me know ! I am currently at WGTC doing prerequisites and I found out that their NCLEX pass rate last year was 61.90% í ½í¸³ Therefore I'm exploring other options. I haven't taken my TEAS yet but maybe applying for fall will give me time to work full time as a CNA the summer prior to school starting
No problem! Believe it or not CTC has a 100% pass rate and was ranked the 5th best nursing school in the state as a result: RN Programs in Georgia - ADN, BSN, MSN || RegisteredNursing.org You see lots of different rankings. This one specifically used NCLEX pass rates. I think that serves as a pretty good litmus test of what students have learned. Good Luck!
I would tell you to do everything not school related now lol. I would try to make the most out of the summer before it starts because it takes a lot out of you and a lot of us had basically no life outside of school for a long time.
Also, I personally watched some youtube videos about other people's experience in nursing school to get an idea of what to expect and what supplies I might need to purchase.
Test Success makes a line of books that help you study and give you practice questions, a lot of us use those books each semester, but they also have a test taking techniques book that helps you learn how to answer NCLEX style questions, which I found really helpful. Made Incredibly Easy also makes good books that break each semester's main topics down. They do have a Fundamentals of Nursing Made Incredibly Easy that will give you a bit of an overview of what you will be learning the first semester.
Once you get the facebook group active, try to create some sort of event where you guys can meet each other. It helps a lot with first day nerves when you actually know people when you walk in!
