2017 Fall Chattahoochee Tech Nursing Program
When you transfer are you transferring to apply to the nursing program? If so, that is because the application process for nursing begins in January. You have to have all your things in for the nursing program by may and by June they have picked who is getting into the program based off grades and testing scores. So you would have need to of been accepted to the school by dec to begin the application process the next semester in the spring.

2017 Fall Chattahoochee Tech Nursing Program
Peds is hard to get in without being an experienced nurse with your BSN . A lot of people are waiting to interview until they take the NCLEX but everyone that has interviewed has got a job offer. I know Grady will higher new nurses for mother baby, some other hospitals want you to have a little more experience. You can get a job in nicu as a new nurse with your ASN. I have a job on a cardiac icu stepdown floor. I know someone with an OR circulating nurse offer, mother baby offer, lots of med surg, tele floors, icu offers. You can do almost anything you want! I do know peds is something you usually have to have BSN for though :)

Unfortunately no. As an ASN student you don't get a preceptorship. I don't mind all the questions! If it makes you feel any better I already accepted a job in September before I graduated or passed the NCLEX. The only thing not having a perceptor ship has gotten in the way of is some people wanting to go straight to the ED or working in Peds

We have clinicals everywhere they try to group you with people near your home. We have clinicals at Grady Piedmont Atlanta Piedmont Fayette Mountainside WellStar Paulding ... and then we have some specialty clinical sites in between and there some hospitals I missing I just never been to them so I don't remember As far as how much I have paid I'm not exactly sure sometimes semesters are cheaper than others this semester was 1800 and there are four semesters . I know the summer one didn't cost as much i've bought so many books in the past 18 months I can't really "you on how much that will cost I know my MedSurg book cost around 300 my fundamentals book around 200 but there's multiple books in between all that and multiple programs that you have to purchase when you go to the application session though be able to tell you were price better

Then go by that. That's what I had thought. You just need to apply by dec and be accepted. You don't have to actually attend or take classes. You being accepted makes you a student here. There are people in my nursing class that never attended chat tech until nursing school

Chattahoochee Technical College ASN Fall 2017
Yes def. a week by week thing. And even then they will change the schedule sometimes the last minute. Everyone make sure you're super flexible with your schedule because nothing is ever set in stone and there is always things being added or taken away. You'll learn to just roll with it! Also with your Facebook group , make sure no one ever talks about grades, teachers, or each other . They will go over that in orientation though! I definitely recommend getting a nice planner and a dry erase calendar. Color coding assignments and days you have to be here or there is super helpful and if there are schedule changes then it's easy to fix it! Like lexi said, there is no way I would of survived without my calendar! Also NCLEX style question books are great to get. I saw lexi told y'all about the "success " brand books. Those are super helpful. Everyone will also need a clear, waterproof horizontal badge cover for their school ID to clip onto their scrubs. I ordered a 55 pack of Amazon for a few dollars for the class and gave them out at orientation for one less thing to worry about! Also for class, you can't wear scrubs or jeans, we wear business casual every class , so if you're like me and needed to stock up on some things , that's a heads up! Ummmm... you won't start clinicals until around the end of September or beginning of October I believe , but you'll have skills lab, it's nice to go ahead and get your clinical/ skills lab bag together and it's fun to prepare! I have my stethoscope, pen light , 5 1/2 inch surgical scissors, hemostats, highlighter, sharpie, pen with 3 colors, a watch with a second hand, my badge reel, and a little pocket notebook for notes and postits. I carry a bag of person items like Tylenol, chopstick, lotion (my hands get super dry at clinical) and caffeine gum! You don't have a lot of time for coffee at clinicals so it's nice to pop a piece in and keep chugging along! You will have to buy a skills lab bag (they will tell you about this at orientation) it has hinge it it but they are for simulation dummy use or very low quality so you won't want to use these things at clinicals. If I think of anymore I'll let you know or add me or lexi to your group on Facebook to help answer questions" Lindsey LC Casey "

Choa no longer allows any associate degree programs to do clinicals there so unfortunately we don't :/ but it's super easy to get a BSN after this program. There a a few bridge programs that come out and advertise their programs to everyone :)
