Chattahoochee Technical College ASN Fall 2016

Published

My name is Jamie. I attended the first application session today at Chattahoochee Tech for the Fall 2016 program. I've enjoyed following the last two groups of prospective students on these boards and thought I would see if I could get one started for the 2016 applicants. I'd love to get to know other prospectives and share the emotional rollercoaster that hopefully ends on a high!! :)

Hi,

My name is Stephanie Waldrop. I am also a ADN hopeful for fall 2016 program. I have taken all prerequisites needed except for micro, which I am taking this summer. I took my one and only Teas that I have ever done May 4 and made a 70 :( (I know def disappointing), I did really well on reading and math but science I didn't do great at. I have made all A's in everything except for math I made a B so I am hopeful that will help! I have known since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a nurse! Very nerve-racking playing the waiting game but I know it's all in Gods plan! I hope and pray that I get in this year, just hit the big 30 in March and have two boys to graduate for! I wish all of you guys the best as well into getting in this year! Do you know when we might be hearing of acceptance since there are no interviews anymore?

Hi Stephanie. Welcome to our anxious club. :) To answer your question, the health sciences employee I spoke with said we should still plan to hear after June 24. Sure do wish it was sooner!

Hey welcome! I think were supposed to hear something around the 26th of June but that was before the interviews were taken out so honestly I'm expecting to hear sooner. Good luck!!!! :)

Ha!! Thank you for letting me know!! Are you a CTC student or a transfer :)? I am very thankful for a place like this that allows us to have an anxiety club!! I don't know how I would manage the anxiety on my own!! Lol!

Isn't that the truth, Stephanie?! I have lived in ATL for 18 years and have taken all of my science prerequisites through CTC. I graduated from Alabama MANY moons ago with the other prereqs under my belt. :) How many other "2nd career" people are on this board?

My name is Liza I got5 kids and in Oct I'm hitting 39. I'm actually a student at CTC already. I got an 80 on my TEAS and with my prerequisites I'm at 270 points. I'm very nervous. I have applied at 2 other schools too so I'm hoping atleast one will want me.

I am a medical assistant now with Georgia Cancer Specialist :). I live and have lived in Canton, Georgia all my life :)!

Congrats girl!! I pray this will be me soon!! :) Have a awesome rest of the week!

Hi Stephanie! We are pretty close in our working distance. I'm very familiar with your practice because I refer to y'all a lot. I work at Medical Associates of North Georgia in Canton, as a CMA. Welcome to the board. Are you planning to work at all if you get into the program?

Awesome!! You might know a friend of mine Jen! We are in the process of selling our our house to downsize and pay off some bills so that I can just work as a resource employee maybe once a week if I get in :). What about you?

I plan to drop to part time, fingers crossed that I get into the program, only requiring 4 hours per week. Since we are owned by Northside, I just couldn't completely give up my years of service and having my foot already in the door.

I feel the same way that's why I want to stay on board as resource!! We will def have job opportunities at the new hospital! I pray we both get in. I work at the Jasper office of GCS not the canton one but I live in canton though! :) How have you done with prerequisites and the TEAS?
