Chattahoochee Technical College ASN Fall 2016

My name is Jamie. I attended the first application session today at Chattahoochee Tech for the Fall 2016 program. I've enjoyed following the last two groups of prospective students on these boards and thought I would see if I could get one started for the 2016 applicants. I'd love to get to know other prospectives and share the emotional rollercoaster that hopefully ends on a high!! :)

West Georgia Tech and Georgia Highlands are both accredited schools and neither one of them require interviews. I think it's a good thing maybe that means CTC is going to get accredited come August and that's one of the rules they are going to have to play by. Just my guess but i gotta say makes me very nervous to not be able to get some extra points.

Yes that is a good way of looking at it. I do hope they get accredited.

Welcome Amanda! Glad you found us. This waiting is no fun. What is everyone doing to pass the time (summer school, work, vacation, Netflix binge)? Anyone have any excellent summer plans for us to envy? :)

Hello Amanda :-) Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! Well, we're heading to NOLA this summer; work of course and lotsa TV. Most importantly I wanna spend as much time as possible with my daughter, she's growing way too fast.

Well we are getting closer to a month out since our deadline. I've been trying to stay busy and enjoy my hobbies during this wait. Work also helps with passing my weekdays along. I enjoy crafts, crochet, knitting, fishing, kayaking, and chalk painting furniture. I have been trying to stay away from anything school related or coming here to much, since the wait and wonder will drive me crazy. Then finding out this week that the interviews were eliminated just made this wait even longer. I wish they could have at least moved up the notification date a few weeks so I wont spend my summer waiting. :nailbiting:

Well as of 12:00 today I have all four children home for the summer. That should keep me busy enough. No classes, but summer is busy for my photography. Hopefully that and the kiddos will save me from too much angst. :) I agree about telling us earlier. I sure wish they would. Hang in there girls!!

I've got 5 but only 3 left at home. You would think that still keep busy but my mind is going nuts and I can imagine it's only going to get worse ...lol ... No I'm being serious :)

What kind of photography do you do? I enjoy photography as a hobby. I love my Nikon and pack it along everywhere. I typically do all our family portraits, sports and I also like photographing nature. I've been approached to do it as a side business for portraits but for me it's different taking photos of my own family............I just know what I want in my own photos :)

Has anyone applied to any other schools nursing programs? I did apply to KSU for Fall admission(just to the school).......for the just in case. If I don't make the cut this time at CTC then I will take chemistry at KSU in the fall and then reapply to CTC Fall ASN for 2017 and also to KSU for the Spring 2017 BSN. Did everyone complete all the Pre-reqs for CTC? I know some aren't required before you apply.

I did complete everything and only applied to CTC. Sounds like you have a smart plan B. Good for you! I am a photographer. I also shoot with Nikon. :) I photograph families, children, infants and seniors.

And BTW you should totally have confidence in yourself as a photographer. If people are asking, then they recognize your talent. Have fun with it! I love making people happy with pictures! :)

I have all my prerequisites for CTC and most of the BSN prerequisites like Chem 1151 and 1152 as well as Statistics and the Histories. I'm gonna put in applications at KSU Spring 2017 and UWG starts in the summer of every year. This is all if I don't get into CTC.

BTW I did get an interview 2 years ago at CTC but didn't check my emails on time because I was out on vacation getting wasted lol.
