My name is Jamie. I attended the first application session today at Chattahoochee Tech for the Fall 2016 program. I've enjoyed following the last two groups of prospective students on these boards and thought I would see if I could get one started for the 2016 applicants. I'd love to get to know other prospectives and share the emotional rollercoaster that hopefully ends on a high!! :)
I'm not sure of which books but I'm sure they are on the book store website if you just wanted to get an idea. I typically buy and keep anything actually related to the field for future reference. I actually still use some of my books from when I did my medical assisting degree......actually used them more after then during the course cause everything made more sense when in the field and wanting to reference it.
Last year, our fundamentals book was an ebook package with online components that we needed for assignments. No way around buying it that I remember.
You will also receive ATI books. There should be a drug book too.
In addition, I would suggest to buy a diagnosis handbook. Mine is by Betty J. Ackley MSN EdS RN and Gail B. Ladwig MSN RN. Found used on Amazon. This is incredibly helpful for care plans when you start clinicals.
