Charity School of Nursing (SON) Fall 2015

U.S.A. Louisiana

Is there anyone else applying to Charity SON for Fall of 2015 (RN)? LOL, everything is so quiet. I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread so we can give help and support. Good luck, everyone!

Just an FYI, when I spoke to an advisor yesterday, she also stated that if you get a denial letter, you can make an appointment that week and see what your profile score was. She said make an appointment or just go straight to the admissions office and see what your score was. If you think your score was calculated wrong, they will go over it with you. If they did happen to calculate your score wrong, and you made the cutoff score, you will then be admitted into the program. She stated not to wait weeks or moths to come in to challenge a denial letter, and to do it that same day or week if you can. If you wait months to challenge a decision, you'll be too late to be admitted into that semester for which you applied. Just though this could help anyone who gets a denial letter, and feel they had a pretty high profile score :)

I called immediately after I got my letter last semester and was told they they weren't talking to any students yet about their scores and to try back in two weeks. I called back and made an appointment and they canceled the morning of. I ended up meeting with the admissions coordinator a month after receiving my letter because that was the only appointment I could get and she corrected my score herself but did nothing about it. I was just told to try again next semester.

Hooefully the process is a lot easier this time around for everyone.

I agree with Susan Hill they should at least allow us to include a score sheet to perhaps help them to prevent from under scoring eligible candidates. I am wondering if they also over calculate scores. We will never know because I am sure nobody is going to come forward if they got accepted when they shouldn't have.

I just looked at last year's forum and they started getting letters around March 11. The lowest score mentioned being accepted was 65. Hopefully that is the case this time around as well. If so, we hould be finding out in the next two weeks.

The advisor said we will have letters by mid March, so we'll definitely know something in 2-3 weeks :)

I'm so ready to know already!!!

I wish they didn't have to use snail mail!

I was just reading Fall 2014's forum and they actually had their letters sent out in two batches. Some found out in the first week of March and others not until April. A couple actually got phone calls. Hopefully that doesn't happen this semester!!

I know! I hate having to wait lol

Where is everybody from??

Sorry I've just been creeping on the comments for a while. I'm getting so antsy to just find out if I got in or not! I live in Marrero.

Maybe they found out so late, because they were waiting to see if everyone accepted their spot. I live in St Bernard Parish. Slorificen what is your profile score?
