Charity School of Nursing (SON) Fall 2015

Published

Is there anyone else applying to Charity SON for Fall of 2015 (RN)? LOL, everything is so quiet. I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread so we can give help and support. Good luck, everyone!

They know you won't finish the hep B in time but the require you to start it. That goes for any of the vaccines that you might need. For example I was not immune to varicella when I got my titer back therefore I had to go and get the vaccine. They accepted that for registration but then during the semester I had to follow up and finish the varicella series and then test as immune for it via titer. Let me just say you don't want to be bothered with all that during the semester so start now if you can

Thanks for the information, I'm planning on going tomorrow to go get all the health requirements except for the Tb test, I'll get that one close to when school starts

Do they count the d or f you got in a class if you retook it and passed?

I'm not sure if that is calculated in your GPA or not. But it does make you lose 10 points on your profile sheet

That's what has me thinking I might not get in. My GPA was a 3.2 when I applied. I've completed all courses (both a&p's, micro, ect). I had 1 f, 1 d, and 1 W which I took all of those over and got an A in each one. I made an 81 on my HESI. Do you guys think those grades and that W are going to impact my sheet so much that I won't get in? I'm so worried!

Another weird thing, I have transfer credits from 2008 that have never shown up on my Lola account for some reason. Today they are all suddenly on my transcript as "accepted transfer credits". I don't know if this is because they just never added it to the system or if it's because maybe I've been accepted and they added it on there to complete everything... I have no idea. I know my transcripts from the other school were in the system, ms. Fleury was always able to pull them up in order to do over rides.

I don't know about the transfer credit thing, you should call and see though. As far as those stats affecting your score, with the W in only 1 class and the D/F that's 15 points taken off from the total of 100 (110 if you count the bonus). The HESI score will give you 15 points out of the 30 you can get for HESI, so that's another 15 points taken away from 100/110. You didn't mention your CSN gpa so I can't tell you how that affected your score, but that category is worth a total of 25 points. If you get the profile sheet, you'll see what I mean by all this and be able to know your profile score and how your stats affected that score. No one knows the cut off score for this semester so no one can say if you have a good chance or vise versa. We're all in the same boat at this point, just waiting for the final word. Good luck to you!!
