Hi!
I am looking to start Chamberlain about July 2015. I am seeking students that are already in the course and want to provide some insight into the courses/advice.
Also looking for soon to be students to link up.
All the previous threads are from previous years so it's time to start a new thread.
Hi! I am starting the program on Aug 31 is was really interested in doubling up on my classes to be done within 2 years. Can you give me any advice on what classes would be good to double up? I work full time and have a pretty busy family life so it's comforting to hear that another working mom was able to double up on the classes =) was it doable? I would greatly appreciate any feedback! Thank you =)
Hey there!
When I began the program I just found out I was preggo! I continued through my pregnancy, doubling up 3 times, and taking 507 and 508 alone (patho and pharm). Although I did not double these classes together, this is what I'd suggest, 500 has to be taken alone, then I'd take theory and informatics, research and leadership, and statistics and policy. This would be the easiest way to go about the doubling (even though the classes are very time consuming). I am starting my clinicals on 8/31 (beginning of the end!!!). Feel free to PM for more info!
Thank you so much for your advice! Unfortunately I am unable to PM you right now because I do not have 15 posts yet. And congrats on your soon to be new addition, how exciting! You have definitely encouraged me to try and double up on the classes. Were you also working full time during this period? I'm just worried that working full time and doubling up will give me no time for my family, but I know that it will be an adjustment. Did you feel like the instructors were helpful if you had any questions for them? Thanks again for all of your time and help, I really appreciate it!
So my son is 4 months old! I began the program in July 2014. Yes I also worked full time nights during this time...in fact...I'm still working full time nights and will continue to do so throughout the rest of the program. I start clinical on Tuesday next week! Some instructors are definitely better than others, but overall I am pleased with the program
I live in Richmond, Va I began at South university on campus location for the FNP program Oct. 2014. I attended two semesters there and found it to have a lot of problems so I decided to leave and look into other programs. As I had received my BSN from chamberlain and had a great experience I decided to come back for the FNP program. South was very disorganized and right before the second semester there they had their third nursing director change and she taught a class we had that semester but didn't teach I felt it was a waste of my time and money as it was more expensive almost $7,000 a semester. Along with their financial aid services were a challenge to work with as well. Other teachers were also very inconsistent in teaching. I just started chamberlain in sept 2015 a little nervous about being online and keeping focused especially with having a new little one around. I was wondering from other students who have taken informatics and how they found that class, I wasn't fond of the informatics class I had to take during the BSN program just curious how difficult this one was? And what classes so far were found the most difficult? thanks for any info?
I am very interested in Chamberlain's FNP program, but I am little skeptical because the application process was such a breeze (no letters of recommendation required or essay). Did anyone else find this odd? I spoke to an addmissions advisor and he was extremely helpful and the program seems wonderful, but I cannot seem to understand why they do not make the application process more difficult since it is a graduate program. Anyone have any input on this? Also, does anyone know the recent pass percentage/rate for the most recent class?
I have been working on my RN to MSN/FNP through Chamberlain since Nov. 2013. I have changed my MSN specialty a couple of times now. I started in the Administrative program, switched to education, then over to FNP. I have started my specialty courses and so far I have found all courses to be reasonable as far as workloads go. I doubled up for one term and I believe the two courses were research and theory. I am thinking about doubling for the Nov session taking Patho and Pharm. Anyone have input on this? I'm just wondering if the workloads are relatively reasonable. I have read in similar threads that both require a lot of reading and tests. I personally prefer tests over papers!
