Chamberlain FNP 2015 (looking for previous & new students)

Published

Hi!

I am looking to start Chamberlain about July 2015. I am seeking students that are already in the course and want to provide some insight into the courses/advice.

Also looking for soon to be students to link up.

All the previous threads are from previous years so it's time to start a new thread.

I plan to start in September I was wondering the same!

ShelbySmiley,

Thanks for replying. Best of luck! Hopeful someone will join the chat and provide some insight. Keep checking back :)

Congratulations on your July start date! If you would like to connect, you can add my email to your contacts: [email protected] Hope you find me in your classes.

Thank you for replying to the thread.

I start in May. I completed their RN to BSN a year ago. I tried the brick and mortar route for my FNP and found that sitting in a classroom with a teacher I could barely understand wasn't for me! Good luck to everyone!

Hi

I was looking into Chamberlains RN to MSN (FNP) program and was going to apply. But someone told me they aren't fully accredited. Is that true? Do you know if they are in the process of getting their accreditation?

Hey There!

I am in my 8th class in the FNP program at Chamberlain (patho). So far I love the program and am slated to graduate in June 2016. For the first term you have to take a foundations course by itself, then you can double for the next 3 terms (this is what I did, I started in July 2014). You are required to locate potential clinical sites, but you have a practicum coordinator that will call on your behalf. The first graduating class is set to graduate next month! So info on boards will be available by summer! PM me with any questions!

Yes they are fully accredited!

I know the stl campus is very well known and accredited. I've also known people to get very good jobs after graduation.

wizski,

That's horrible that you couldn't understand the teacher! I encountered this problem once before in my life and it did make learning very difficult. I guess that is a blessing from online learning that language is written black and white.

I was considering South University but I read in other blogs that the classes don't really have syllabus. I could see not having a syllabus as potentially misunderstanding class requirements and assignments which could easily be a communication error. For this reason, my clear choice was Chamberlain's FNP program. I did my bachelor's with them and almost all assignments requirements were clearly outlined. I hope and pray that this continuous on to the Master's program.

Best of luck wizski!

ShelbySmiley,

The two accreditations one would want with a nursing degree are: Regional accreditation and Program Accreditation (CCNE or NLN). Chamberlains has both regional accreditation and CCNE program accreditation.

However the following is listed on their website (and this is more to do with state requirements):

"At this time, Chamberlain College of Nursing cannot accept inquiries from the states of Washington D.C., Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Tennessee, or Washington for the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner Program."

Found at the bottom of this page: Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN-FNP Chamberlain College

I would imagine that if you lived in any of the above listed states, I would stay away from the program.

Best of Luck!
