Hi!
I am looking to start Chamberlain about July 2015. I am seeking students that are already in the course and want to provide some insight into the courses/advice.
Also looking for soon to be students to link up.
All the previous threads are from previous years so it's time to start a new thread.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there that is in the CCN FNP programs can give me any insight into the immersion weekend. I was wondering what I should prepare for, if someone who has done it can let me know what to expect I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
Hey FutureRNMom,
I got your message, but I don't think I can PM yet because I have not posted enough. I can tell you that I like the online format, and the courses are easy to navigate enough. I have found taking one class at a time doable with a full time job and I have two young kids. I am going to try to double this semester, so I can let you know how that goes. As far as clinicals, I am working with my unit educator and she is looking into who I can maybe work with in my organization. I also know that Walgreens is affiliated with Chamberlain and you can apply for clinical rotations online through them (I plan to do this also). I am also talking to someone in the health department in Nassau county as a possible rotation or back up. I may also talk to UF as I know that they have agreements with the BSN program in Jax, so that may be a possibility. I hope that helps.
FutureRNMom,
My adviser or my practicum coordinator? My adviser helps me with my classes, but tells me a practicum coordinator will be assisting me set up my practicums. I haven't heard from a practicum coordinator. That is why I plan on calling after the holidays. I think they make you start early because it is competitive, especially in Jax. We are going to be competing with UNF, JU, UF, and probably others who are going to school online as well, such as Drexel and South University. Have you spoken with your educator at work? I am making a list of possibilities, and plan on sending my stuff this Jan.
I start Chamberlain in January of 2016. Excited, nervous and hoping to balance it all since I work full time and also a mom. I may end up dropping to part time if my manager will let me which so far she won't. I'm only taking the one class right now, but I want to double up so I can get done sooner!
I was looking into applying to chamberlain in the fall for my BSN to FNP track. I am just worried about the post graduation stats. any issues finding jobs? Issues with the school? I have no issues with online courses but are the professors available for help? Thanks so much, just a nervous applicant

Hey everyone,
I started CCN FNP program this September. I am in Jacksonville, FL. I haven't heard from the clinical coordinator at all. Planned on calling after the holidays. I am working on finding preceptors now, plan on starting clinicals in Jan 2017. My advisor usually calls at the beginning of each course so far, and he has been super helpful. Just not sure what to expect with the clinical coordinator.
