They are having an open house next Thursday. You may want to check that out. I myself have decided I cant start until January 2018. I just have too many expenses right now that I need to pay off.

Hello! I am a current student at Chamberlain Sac (I was accepted into the fall 2016 batch). Typically, we have class every M-TR and exams on fridays. However, in the beginning it won't be that way because you aren't in the actual nursing classes like health and wellness, health assessment, and so on. It definitely picks up after your first session or 2, don't be surprised. I know plenty of people in and out of my cohort who work, but I believe many of them have either reduced their hours or tried. Because its only 8 weeks a session, I have classmates who have alternating exams from classes every week. It's definitely intense, but we are all very grateful for this school.

My advice would be to see how it is for the first 2 sessions and then decide on your work load. I think session 3 is when it really picks up (if you're a transfer). Definitely communicate with the student services advisor if you have any more concerns. I hope this helped!

I am part of Jan 17 class and will be ending the first session of semester one this week. Your schedule varies whether you are transferring in many courses from previous colleges. Some students in my class are having to go to campus more days than me since they're taking science courses still. For me, my schedule: two online courses that are part of DeVry. And the first nursing class on campus that everyone in my class attends called Transition to Nursing which is an introductory course. For me, I attended class these past eight weeks twice, Monday and Wednesday 1-3pm. The online courses which are part of my upper division were solely online.

After this week, we begin the part 2 of first semester. My schedule is still pretty light since I transferred many courses. But I have to go to campus three times now. Mondays I'm taking philosophy critical reasoning 1-4pm. This class is a hybrid, so both meet in person and online. Tuesday and Thursday 9-12pm are nursing course Health Promotion.

Bare in mind, aside from the nursing courses, everyone's schedule is different. In Transitions, our cohort was split into two one morning and one afternoon session. You're able to trade with a classmate if they're willing to swap times with you so it won't hinder your personal or work life. However, the program will get more dense and you never know, we may get clinical on some weekends. So please, work around nursing school. Nursing school doesn't work around your job.

I'm an on-call caregiver so my job is pretty flexible but surely I'll be quitting once I feel I need more time; everyone is different though! I hope this helps! And sorry for late response. Good luck :)

Just now reading this in detail after realizing I'll definitely have to continue to work as long as possible while in school. Thanks so much for the specificity!

how much does it cost a year? How's the program going? I applied as well.

It depends on the number of pre requisites you transfer in. It's 30k a year for three years if you have no pre reqs completed. I transferred all pre reqs over and they accepted a few of my electives too and I'm paying 20-25k a year for two years.

Hello, I am trying to get accepted into the 2017 August block. I am wondering how does the Committee look at past medical experiences as being competitive. I am a current Respiratory Therapist who works closely with critically ill patients. I want to know if my license counts towards a competitive streak?

I am starting May 2017 at Chamberlain Sac. According to admissions, previous work experience is not a large factor in getting accepted. I was told GPA and HESI score are the heaviest factors when looking at applicants. A friend of mine who is a Phlebotomist, has her Associates and scored an 88% on her HESI was told her GPA was not competitive enough for the Sacramento campus. She had a 3.25 and they recommend she apply for the Phoenix campus because they had more spots to offer and the GPA average was lower and she got in. Your application contains your transcripts, HESI score and a Purpose Statement written by you about why you want to attend Chamberlain and get into Nursing. Hope that answers your question!

Hello Nari,

Program is going well. I am of spring '17 class so I haven't been here as long as the others ahead of us. We just completed our finals last week of last session for spring semester :D I believe in other posts, I said what my schedule was like. I passed both classes, A and B+. Was really hoping for an A in H&W but I will take what I can get. What matters is progressing in the program. Grades or how good of a test taker you are doesn't necessarily equal to a good nurse as long as you can understand and apply the information throughout. But it is important to pass NCLEX later on.

So far so good. Not sure who all is moving forward with me into patho and health assessment 1 which are both on campus. This is where we begin labs, not clinical. Some students struggled in H&W. It is relatively easy to understand but when it comes to taking the exam, can be tricky because it isn't really black and white. You may find yourself over thinking scenarios and options sometimes lol

Let's hope I survive next semester so I can keep anyone updated. :) Hope this helps for anyone interested.
