I am researching online MSN programs and have narrowed it down to 2-3 and I was wandering if anyone has gone through the Chamberlain College online program for FNP. If so any advice would be helpful. Did you like the program? If not Why? Would you recommend an online program for a MSN?
Hi, I am going to start the FNP program in November '16. From reading your posts, I imagine you are all done. I am curious on your thoughts about the program overall, did you think your education reflects the knowledge needed to practice effectively as well as pass certification exams? I just really want to be certain that I am choosing the right program for the long hall and I appreciate ANY feedback you have to give.
I am currently taking two classes per term in Chamberlain's FNP program... it's very challenging, but it's been doable for me. I have three young children and work 20-30 hours per week. Most of the classes have two discussion posts due each week, and you will also have to respond to other students' posts throughout the week as well. There is also a LOT of reading and writing papers. There haven't been any exams... a couple of quizzes here and there, but mostly just writing papers. I'm taking two classes at a time until I get to Advanced Pathophysiology (which will be the next term for me), and then I will be taking one class at a time for the rest of the program. Good luck! :)
Hi I am starting the FNP program in August 2016. I am planning on doubling classes after the first class I believe I can double classes 2 through 7. I plan on continuing to work 3 12 hour shifts a week, hoping it is not to overwhelming. I am so excited to get started. Good luck to everyone getting ready to start and congratulations to everyone who has finished the program!!!
Hello,
Congrats on all your success. I am also in the program and I find myself stressing over Patho and Pharm because of the comprehensive exam at the end of the program. Is there alot of material from those courses or is it kinda like the board exam? I feel that it is sometimes hard to read all the material and then I still get the questions wrong because the treatment/medication wasn't the right first-line choice, any insight?

Hi,
I complete my program for FNP in October. I also did my BSN with them. I was able to work up until my second rotation of clinicals then it just became too much. It's time consuming everywhere but from the complaints I get from other friends that went elsewhere like South University I think I had it pretty good.
hi my name is mandy. I want to join the FNP program. Can u tell me about the cost and what are the requirements for entering to FNP program. Do they need 2 years of nursing experience??? because am a new graduate. I just passed my Nclex-RN in march 2016. so if u can plz tell the information. I checked on the website of chamberlin that they do not need experience in nursing field. but just making sure with u. thanku:)

This forum is so helpful as I will be starting the FNP program in October. I am finishing up the RN to BSN program now. So far I have had no complaints. I have read very mixed reviews from people on the FNP program. It is more assuring to read the experience of someone who is a recent graduate. I have only been a nurse for a year, and I have had trouble figuring out what specialty I prefer. I recently left critical care for home health, I am beginning to think it was a mistake.
