  1. Hi Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your Chamberlain experience. I started the FNP program August 2016 and will graduate December 2018. I am in second practicum classes now and only have 3 classes left. it is true that Chamberlain made a lot of changes to the program but they are to help with passing boards. If anyone has any questions as all feel free to ask......Good Luck!!!
  2. Hi Everyone!! Congratulations to everyone who has completed the program or who is getting ready to start. I am currently in Advanced Pharmacology, I will be doing Advanced Physical Assessment next semester. I graduate October 2018!!! I was wondering if anyone who has already taken Advanced Physical Assessment could tell me what assignments are due week 4 or if you have a syllabus if you could email it to me I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance!!
  3. Hi I am starting the FNP program in August 2016. I am planning on doubling classes after the first class I believe I can double classes 2 through 7. I plan on continuing to work 3 12 hour shifts a week, hoping it is not to overwhelming. I am so excited to get started. Good luck to everyone getting ready to start and congratulations to everyone who has finished the program!!!
  4. Hi everyone, I am from Sterling VA and will be starting Chamberlain's FNP program August 2016, I am so excited and ready to get started. I am nervous about finding preceptors though, I found out recently that the one I put on my application I can't use because they do not have a clinical agreement with Chamberlain so now I have to find a new one, does anyone out there live in Virginia and have any preceptor connections?? I plan on doubling after the first class so will potentially be starting clinical's August or September of 2017. Does anyone know if there are breaks between classes?? Thank you in advance for any help. Good luck everyone!! :)
  5. Hi Everyone, I am also starting Chamberlain's FNP program in on August 29th. I am so nervous and excited to get started. Any advice from recent graduates for us newbies?? I plan on doubling up after the first class. Anyone else planning on doing this?? I live in Virginia and look forward to staying connected!! Good luck everyone.
  6. Hi Everyone, first let me congratulate you all on getting accepted!!!! I just graduated from the program and took my NCLEX on Tuesday and passed!! I wanted to write because I remember how overwhelming everything was at the beginning with checklists, immunization trackers, books and lots of money spent!!! NVCC nursing is a great program, it is hard but when you reach the end it will be worth it, the people in your class will become your best friends because only they will understand what you are going through, my best advice is keep up with your reading and homework and study study study!! Enjoy your families and do what you love for the next couple of weeks because once you start the program it will be your life for the next 16 weeks....if anyone has any questions at all let me know and I will try to help as best I can...again congratulations on getting accepted it will be worth it all in the end!!!
  7. CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!!!! If I can be of any help to anyone just let me know I will be a senior in the fall and the second year students helped us first years ALOT in the beginning, so I am here if you need me even if you just need to chat, this is a very exciting time enjoy the moment I know I did last year!!!! :-)
  8. Last year we got the email first not sure if they are doing it different this year!! I believe our deadline for the application was May 14th and I got an email on June 6th.....Hope this helps!!!
  9. Just to let you know when we got our letters last year they were just one page so if on June 21st you get a thin envelope don't panic there is nothing in there except the "congratulations" letter with a lot of instructions on what you need to do!! GOOD LUCK!!!!
  10. I remember how very stressful it was waiting so I am happy to help in any way I can. We have a great class and it really helps to have other people in the same boat that you can talk to!! The program is really good, it is not easy by any means it takes a lot of work on your part to be successful but every teacher I have encountered want the best for their students, my best advice is to stay organized and on top of assignments!!
  11. Last year we got an email on June 6th with the letter attached that has all the directions on what you need to do before classes start and then I got the same letter in the mail about a week or two late....Hope this helps!! Good Luck to everyone.
  12. Hi Everyone, I want to wish everyone GOOD LUCK....I was in your shoes last year and am happy to say I just finished my first year in NOVA's RN program, it is a great program, if you have any questions just ask....my advice right now is relax and enjoy your time because there is a lot to do this summer to get ready for the fall when you get accepted!!! :-)
  13. Hi Everyone, My name is Teresa I am 38 years old, married with 2 kids 9 and 13. I have my LPN license which I got in 2010 but have never worked as an LPN, I decided I really wanted to be an RN so decided to just go to school because everyone I talked to said once you start making money (I didn't work while at LPN school) it is really hard to stop making it to go back to school and I really didn't want to wait any longer!! Waiting on that acceptance letter was the longest wait ever and I didn't even submit my application until May 14th but that is over now I am just so excited to get started, I am so happy to see so many "older" people in the program even though like everyone else I don't feel old but I am!! :) I am not sure yet what nursing I want to do, I do know I am getting my BSN as soon as I have my license. I am paying for all my school out of pocket I am so so lucky to have a supportive husband!! I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and beginning this amazing journey. I am signed up for the August 3rd session because I will be gone for the first ones!!! I will look for the facebook page and join!!
  14. Hi tlc2012 I also was accepted to the LPN-RN program, I got my LPN license in 2010 but have not worked as an LPN I just decided to work on school to get my RN so if you decide to join the LPN-RN program we can help each other along.....I would be very interested in both a forum and a facebook page because starting in the Spring semester we will all be in the same program together in class and clinicals and I am also so excited for the semester to start!!!!
  15. I got an email also and I got accepted to the LPN_RN program.......I am so excited!!!! Congratulations to everyone who also got accepted!!! I already email Mrs **** to say I would be at orientation...LOL!!
