Chamberlain College of Nursing Sacramento fall 2019

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hey guys!

I wanted to start a forum to connect with potential classmates. I just received my acceptance to Chamberlain College of nursing in Sacramento. Anyone else?!

I guess we can all keep each other in the loop. I know they are super busy over there from what I saw at the open house in january lol.

No, I think placement testing is only needed if you’re trying to transfer credits from nursing programs so like LVN credits or if you got a C in a core science course. I’ve gotten all A’s and B’s in every class and was told I should be skipping the full first year besides the NR 103 and NR 222 as long as everything transfers from Sierra College.

Thanks, that is probably what she meant by placement tests for me. Due to LVN and degree transfer. Time to study up I guess...lol

Studying will be so much easier when I transfer work location from Palo Alto to Sacramento at the end of the month . No more 3 hour commutes! Oh, I can't wait!

I’m sure you’re going to do great. Since you actually work in the field, I don’t for see any questions you should have TOO hard of a time answering. I’m sure there’s a lot of free online resources out there to brush up on your facts. I’m pretty sure you get around like 20-30 transfer credits(don’t quote me on this) for being an LVN which is huge and will save you a lot of money!

Congrats on getting granted a job transfer. That’s exciting. Will you be moving to the Sacramento area too for school or commuting? I just secured an apartment in Roseville as my family lives in Colfax, it would be almost a 2 hour drive for me to get to school!

I was at the same open house in Jan! So many people, it was crazy!

EWKstudent_nurse I have been living near the Auburn area since last summer. Colfax area is where I am looking to buy property after school! Wow, it is 2 hours commute to school from Colfax!? I may have to re- think what time I need to leave by to get to school in the morning.

Hopefully, Chamberlain will give me some sort of study guide or clues as to what I will be tested on for nursing credits. I am sure everything will go smoothly.

@VANurseCA

colfax is stunning! I loved auburn as well. I think it just depends on what time we’re gonna have class. With traffic it took me an hour and 56 minutes and then without it took me an hour and 25 minutes. We live really high up in the mountains so it takes a bit longer. It wasn’t worth an hour and a half commute for me especially because I work in Roseville!

good luck on your placement tests ?

Yeah I spoke to mine the other day and she said expect that info around June. I too had the same questions. Mainly because we need to meet with someone regarding the financial stuff. And also travel! Does anyone know how many people were actually accepted? I asked during the initial interview but they couldn't say.

Yeah same here! Atleast we will find out exact price and dates in June. That gives us about 3 months to prepare for everything which is nice! They do have an online financial aid calculator which is just an estimate but it says i should pay around $41,000 for the whole program and my aid should cover $35,000 of that so if that’s the case I will be ecstatic. I Think I will feel a lot better once I get an actual estimate from the school and what not.

I’m not sure of how many people are officially accepted but I know there’s only 25-35 people per cohort.

Oh nice! I wanted to know how many people applied but they couldn’t say. Lol.

So last year when I applied and was rejected I found out there was about 500-600 applicants by a student so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was around the same if not more this go around. I do know that there are usually more applicants for September than any other semesters!! Now I am curious as too how many people applied lol, but I guess they can’t tell us? based on what I saw at the open house I would assume hundreds. I mean it was PACKED

I know there was probably around 30ish just in my session. And if they were holding them every single week I was assuming hundreds as well. Wow. Definitely a blessing to have gotten in. That definitely puts things in perspective.

The open house I went too in January was packed! Probably a couple hundred people, and that was just one of the open houses. But how many applied from that group is anyone's guess. We should be happy that we got in. I know I am!
