Hi, I'm currently a pre-nursing student at Florida International University aka FIU in Miami Fl. I'm looking for other nursing schools to apply to because I really don't feel that I'm going to get accepted into FIU. So I did some research and I discovered Chamberlain. I went to their campus and spoke with an adviser and everything and it "appears" to be a good school and I'm interested. However it's a little pricey and I really don't want to waste anymore time and money chasing after a BSN in nursing. So can any current students or former students please share your experiences from this school and if they truly prepared you for the field? Thank you.

The price is almost the same! Look up the tuition for both schools but you will be able to finish chamberlain in less time

Try Dade Medical College or Miami Dade Medical College.

I wouldn't get my BSN from MDC because I'm a Generic Course student. Yea I'll get my RN but it'll only be an Associates. I don't want to go to school for two more years just to get an Associates. What I should have done was go to MDC for my first two years and then transfer to wherever I wanted, but oh well. No sense in crying over spilled milk. Is there anyone else out there who knows if Chamberlain is reputable or not? It's not like Everest or Florida Career College is it???

Congrats on your future endeavors on becoming a nursing student!! I am a former Chamberlain student; I received my BSN, and am currently working on my Master's of Nursing Education degree online! I am from the Columbus, OH area, but have known people from all over the country who have gone to Chamberlain. I went there when they first were starting and I have no regrets! The preparation and curriculum is challenging, but I felt so knowledgeable at clinicals and now at my nursing position. Chamberlain has allowed me to reach my future goals in such a short time span! At the floor I worked on, they hired 3 Chamberlain students all at once and really recognized us against competing schools. It is pricy, but so are many other nursing schools. I look at it like this, it may be a lot of money now, but finding a job before I graduated and having such a supportive network at Chamberlain is totally worth it! I strongly recommend Chamberlain, one for their reputation, and also for all of their accreditations. I have some of my best friends from nursing school and Chamberlain is our common ground. Thank you, what I'm really concerned about is whether or not it is reputable. It's not like Everest, Keiser, Concorde or Florida Career College is it?? Because I have been told to stay far away from those places by professionals in the field and like I said, I really don't want to waste anymore time and money chasing after a BSN in nursing....

Hey, I am currently in the process of starting there just transferring my credits, it is very reputable, i was a little concerned myself my friend went to florida career college an the other to keiser and they are catching hell now because the program was rushed n a waste of money. Worst she is complaining to me that all the jobs she is looking for they are mostly asking for bachelors, chamberlain really prepares you so i say go for it!!!! im pushing for it too

FutureRNsoon I'm going to their open house Thursday with my mother, if everything goes well I may be enrolling in June. But I just wanted other peoples input before I made a decision because we were both really concerned about this. Thank you for posting! So are you also enrolling for June??

Hi, I am graduate of Chamberlain's Phoenix campus. I, too, looked at all of my school options. Chamberlain at the time was a new comer to the Phoenix area. I went to speak with them and learned about their philosophy and the history of the school. The highlight was that in Phoenix they only offer the BSN degree, which all area hospitals now prefer. And, as you may know, the BSN is the national push now. Tuition, like any school, is something to think about, but at the end of three years, you will have a BSN from a school known for its balanced approach to didatic and clinical experiences. You will not only learn how to do basic skills, but you will also learn the importance of critically thinking through situations. Remember you will be the one at the bedside at 2AM! Check out your options- always a good idea. I am confident that you will find Chamberlain among the best! By the way, I was hired before graduation . . .

Hello Everyone,

I am so glad that I was able to find this forum. I actually went to Keiser in the morning and after paying $105 to take the TEAS test and applying to their school. I missed their TEAS requirements by a few points. I kind of gave up hope, but when the Keiser counselor told me about Chamberlain, I called immediately and coincidencely they were having an open house that same night. I fell in love with the school. They are accredited and 50 of my credits transferred over from MDC, so my tuition is less and I can get my bachelors in 2 years and 3 months. I want to begin in January 2013. After reading everyone’s posting I think I am pretty confident with my choice in schools. I applied to Nova as well so I will see who accepts me for next term. Good luck to everyone and Please don’t go to Dade Medical College they are not accredited.

@JOEYFutureARNP when is the deadline to apply for Chamberlain for Spring 2013? and is there an entrance exam?
