Chamberlain College of Nursing BSN Program

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello!! I just joined this site today because I was recently accepted into Chamberlain College of Nursing, I am scheduled to begin classes on March 1st and I was wondering if anyone else is going to Chamberlain and also if anyone has heard anything (good or bad) about this school. I am very excited to start and I think that the most appealing thing about this school is that there isn't a wait list... I applied in August, was accepted in October and I am beginning in March. It is quite expensive but I think (or at least hope) that it is worth it. Also instead of doing the ADN, I have decided to do the BSN, any comments?? Advice?

Dancinchick, did you apply at the last minute for the July start date? Perhaps you should try again for the Oct session and get in as an early admission?

you can only apply once per calendar year

Hi everyone it's me once again. I take my HESI exam in a couple of hours. I have been contemplating on which order i should take the test. Do you think I should do what i find easy first then go to the hardest or do you think I should start with the reading etc then move on to the science parts? I need some advice.

Thanks!!!

fsunole86- Is that true you can only apply once a year? Did you read that on the website or did your advisor inform you?

I was accepted as an alternate for the July start (I applied super early for the Fall start as I am from out of state and need to move there with my family). I was called in late June by the director of admissions and offered the spot as an alternate, but I had to decline b/c there was no way I could move across country with two kids in 2 weeks. She told me that since I was accepted for the July that I would be accepted to start for the fall. She told me to expect my acceptance letter an packet by the end of July (for those of you whose files they haven't looked at I was told they would review the files for the first time in mid July).

I have never heard that you can only apply once a calender year. No one ever told me that so I would double check that if I were you.

I have a 3.85 gpa and had a 94 on the Hesi. I thought the Hesi was pretty easy and to whomever wondered what order to take it in, I would do the hardest stuff for you first while you are fresh. It is a super long test on the computer, and i remember that by the end I was starting to not care so much and just wanted to get it finished. So save your best or easiest stuff for last when your brain is already fried.

I look forward to meeting some of you when classes start this fall!

i found out like 2 weeks before classes would've started by an email

I applied really early so that I could get early admission but my advisor (who i had SO many problems with) apparently "forgot" to submit my file until the very last day. You are only supposed to be able to apply once a year but they are putting my file back into review for October since it was her fault that it was so late. Hopefully I'll have a better chance this time.

Does any one know if for the chamberlain bsn program, you can transfer any of your previously earned credits ? I have a bachelors in another field and wondered if I will still have as long to go if I go with the chamberlain program. Is it worth it to get the bsn? It seems like it says bachelors preferred on a lot of the jobs I see posted.

I was told that they do accept previous class credits as long as they "deem" them to be the same course and coursework. I was told that they would go through your transcripts and make a decision on which classes would transfer before you sign up for classes. They don't do that until you get accepted. For instance, I have already completed A&P 1 and 2, English comp, and other stuff. I would think that the A&P classes would transfer as they are pretty much the same anywhere, but there may be wiggle room on some of my other classes.

Has anyone heard anything from Chamberlain regarding the first round of decisions? I was under the impression that they were meeting the the first part of the month.

I was told that they were meeting for the first time on the 15th (yesterday). I kind of already know I am in (see above post), but she told me at the time that i could expect my formal letter and packet after the 15th. So keep the faith!

I was talking to me advisor and she stated that the first meeting would be end of July. According to her we would know during the begining of august!! Can anyone else clarify because I keep on hearing other dates from other students!

Okay so I just got my hesi score and scored 86.43 averaged between the reading, math, vocabulary and grammar!! My gap is 2.89!! Advisor stated that I can retake my test if I wanted but I would not be able to turn it in this meeting. They would look at it at the end of august. The advisor told mantis sooner you get it in the better chance you'll get in!! I need some advice should I retake the test and turn it in next month or use my 86.4.. I'm so paranoid that the score is not high enough!!

I will email my advisor b/c I need to know if I will get an answer/the packet before August 18th. I am scheduled to go out there to look at apartments and daycare places and I would love to get my fingerprints done then too and meet with financial aide. I will let you know what she says.
