Chamberlain College of Nursing BSN Program

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello!! I just joined this site today because I was recently accepted into Chamberlain College of Nursing, I am scheduled to begin classes on March 1st and I was wondering if anyone else is going to Chamberlain and also if anyone has heard anything (good or bad) about this school. I am very excited to start and I think that the most appealing thing about this school is that there isn't a wait list... I applied in August, was accepted in October and I am beginning in March. It is quite expensive but I think (or at least hope) that it is worth it. Also instead of doing the ADN, I have decided to do the BSN, any comments?? Advice?

hi fmac,

The average gpa is 2.72 to get accepted into chamberlain. My gpa was 3.6 and my hesi score was 86 percent. Just try to score the highest on your Hesi. Get the hesi study guide along with the kaplan study guide too, that helped me!

Hi Teddy,

I just moved to the phoenix arizona in hopes of attending GCU,and my world has flipped around and i would never recommend GCU to anyone. Epspecially if you wish to receive fafsa help. That whole department is just all screwed up and they told me I didnt owe anything and that I had nothing to worry about then I fine out that was a mistake. So i was very patient with them and was worried on how I was going to afford going to GCU, i got approved for az grants that took my advisor so long to take care of. I ended up being put in collections by gcu because of my advisor even though he threw me in the pile of papers not to be put in collections. I did get out of collections 2 weeks later because they did fix it. This was my own personal experience just doing pre reqs during the summer, I will never think twice of going there again. This same thing happened to my friend but a lot worse. I read so many bad reviews on gcu but still ignored them I told myself I had to see for myself. Man have I learned my lesson.

I also just got accepted into chamberlain college of nursing in the phx area, and so far am very happy about it :), Im due to start in July.

Thanks so much for your response. I am sorry about your misfortune with GCU. All the more reassurance that Chamberlain cares more about their students. I appreciate the feedback and I will hopefully see you at Chamberlain in July. :D

In response to to fmac88...my gpa was around 3.3 and my HESI was 92%. I am not sure where I was compared to everyone else. Good luck and just do some preparing before you take the HESI, it was much easier than the NET in my opinion. :twocents:

I have a 3.85 gpa and a 94% on the Hesi. I used the Kaplan Nurse Entrance Exam study guide and it worked really well, had a great Math review which I needed. I applied for the fall and haven't heard back yet, so fingers crossed. Good luck to you and hopefully we'll be classmates come October! If you have any more specific questions about the Hesi, ask away, I just took it a few weeks ago.

Oh no problem! :)

Just some info you might find helpful re: GPA. Chamberlain takes ALL classes you have had in college to average your GPA. Unlike other schools (ASU,NAU,GCU) who only look at your prereqs to average your GPA, Chamberlain will take everything you have ever done!! Wish I had known that!!:banghead:

My GPA is 3.025 and my Hesi was 82.52 What do you think my chances are to get in? I have all pre-reqs done except for 3 classes.

Scared and nervous-I really want to get in ASAP. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance :stdnrsrck:

I was speaking to my advisor and she stated that if you have a 3.0 or above and average the HESI in the mid to 80's or higher you have a very good chance of being accepted. I too applied for this upcoming session. I currently have a 2.9 GPA and still haven't taken my HESI. Im really nervous hopefully everything turns out for the best. Well you should know of your acceptance pretty soon because they meet at the end of every month!!! Goodluck I have my fingers crossed!!! Keep us updated!!!

I talked to my advisor earlier this month via email and she told me that they will be reviewing fall files at the end of the month (June) and we should receive notification early next month (July) via email. I hope this is useful info to anyone interested. Fingers crossed :)

Thanks guys! I go and re-take my Hesi tomorrow at 2 since it is included in the application fee. Luckily, my last school printed out the ones I missed for me, so hopefully I do really well! My advisor said the committee will be meeting July 15th to do their first acceptance bunch.. then August 15th, then September 1st...

Good luck on your Hesi fmac88!

Jessica

Have been following your posts to see how you are enjoying Chamberlain? Do you find that you are learning enough? Ive seen that you have done plenty of research and it seems as if Chamberlain is fully accreditted. I'm looking into Chamberlain after finishing a couple more prereqs. Do you have any advice? I dont want to waste my time, nor my money, to go to a school that doesnt leave me with enough knowledge to pass the boards, nor one that will look bad for future employers.

Also, what type of nutrition class do they require? Im trying to take one online through community college, but have no clue which one to take. As well as economics. I do all my online classes through Rio Salado Community College and they only have two economic classes...principles of Microeconomics and then macroeconomics. I cant afford to pay $620 per credit to take them at Chamberlain, so Im trying to find and take them on my own.

Thanks for any information you can provide. I appreciate it

To everyone asking about GPAS and test scores ... I applied for the July start date, I had a 3.1 college GPA and a 98.8 on the HESI and i DID NOT get in! Not trying to discourage anyone but I think the stakes have gone up..

When and how did they notify you that you didn't get in?
