Hello!! I just joined this site today because I was recently accepted into Chamberlain College of Nursing, I am scheduled to begin classes on March 1st and I was wondering if anyone else is going to Chamberlain and also if anyone has heard anything (good or bad) about this school. I am very excited to start and I think that the most appealing thing about this school is that there isn't a wait list... I applied in August, was accepted in October and I am beginning in March. It is quite expensive but I think (or at least hope) that it is worth it. Also instead of doing the ADN, I have decided to do the BSN, any comments?? Advice?
I'm actually turning my application this upcoming meeting!! :) I'm afraid that score is not enough so I'm deciding to retake it and hopefully score higher!! If you don't mind me asking how was your hesi score comparing to mine? I thinking I'm just stressing myself out!!! :)
I don't want to freak you out, but I had a 94% for the part they actually count and a 92% overall. BUT I have heard of a ton of people getting in with scores in the 82-86% range. What is your gpa? If you do take it over, really really focus on studying the parts that they are counting the most (I think it was reading, math, grammar) and use one of the review books (I think I used the Kaplan one, I got it at the library).
Are you going to retake it before this upcoming meeting? I think it would be better to get your stuff in early. Good luck! Hopefully we'll be classmates this fall!
oh i didnt know u live in michigan, i do too, in troy. Know of any good rn to bsn programs here? that would accept you from a regionally accredited university?
OH HELL NO. RUN RUN RUN out of this god-forsaken state. There are some great programs here, but the waitlists are disgusting. One school near me (Schoolcraft Community College) now has a 4-5 year wait for ADN. I mean, REALLY? Who has that kind of time?
I have heard that Ferris State has a good RN-BSN program. I don't know that much about it, but if it is anything like every other ADN or BSN program here, expect to wait pretty much forever to get in. That's why I am sprinting out of here as fast as possible.
So my general opinion is to go outside the state or do an online RN-BSN program b/c odds are it will happen faster. Good Luck!
I have a 2.89!! Yes my deadline is on Friday and I do take it on friday since the next meeting is on the 29th.. How long did it take you to find out that you got accepted?? Thank you and congratulations!!! Hopefully we will be classmates!! I will keep you updated.
I actually applied awhile ago. I applied in April b/c I am in Michigan and I was able to get down there and take the test and stuff. I knew I couldn't move my family by the time the July class started, so they kind of put my file on hold until they were looking at fall applicants. The first Fall applicant meeting was on the 15th and I got my acceptance email on the 16th (although it went to my spam file, so make sure you check that - I didn't actually find out until yesterday when I checked that folder for some odd reason). They said I should get my formal letter and packet in the mail this week. So I would expect that you should hear within a few days of the meeting.
How do you feel about your essay? I think that plays a huge part as well. And I think that applying this early really helps too, so hopefully you are in good shape. Just study super hard for those few sections (I think the 4th one I couldn't think of was spelling, which is really hard for me, it was my worst section).
Fingers crossed!
Hello everyone,
I recently applied at Chamberlain for the BSN program. I was told by my advisor that I should receive an answer this week , however I am very anxious. I recieved a 94% on my HESI, but I do not have a GPA I only have a GED with a score of 65. My advisor told me that my scores for both are very high and my chances are really good, he also said that my essay was excellent. I have not seen anyone else with my situation of having a GED w/o prior college courses. I was just wondering if anyone on here has any idea of what my chances are? Or if anyone else has been accepted with a GED?
Thanks

Well, since this is the AZ nursing discussion, I would guess that most of us don't know. I live in Michigan now and I don't know, I would ask on the Indiana board. Good luck
