Hey, I am in the same boat as you! I got into Chabot Fall 2020 and Ohlone Spring 2021. I am struggling to decide as well. I don't want to wait 6 months in order to begin neither. Not sure what to do!

OMG! Same! I got my acceptance to Ohlone as well. Chabot is my first choice (due to living and financial situation) but if something happens and things fall through the crack, I will choose Ohlone! Both are good programs. ?

Hi guys!
does anyone know what’s the # on alternate list right now?

Hey guys!
for alternate, anyone send the AHA or wait until the school calls to offer the spot? I’m so confusing because the school don’t call and the deadline catch up one by one. please anyone can tell me about this?

Not too sure what # they are at with the alternate list.

For the BLS class, it is tomorrow 6/16. The class has not been cancelled (from what I know).

As for the other requirements, I would do what you can (I.e. physical exam, vaccinations, BLS class). There are certain things you can't do because they havent accepted you yet (like the drug screen and background check).

Thank you so much Kle.

Hello. I withdrew my seat for this cohort this evening because I got into Los Medanos College's LVN-RN transition. Hopefully, I make someone on the alternate list very happy!

Best of luck to everyone!

Thank you for letting us know. Good luck to you and again CONGRATS!

Hi everyone!

I'm pre nursing at Chabot and im really excited and nervous to be applying in the coming months. I am about to finish my last pre req whic is physio im probably getting a B. I just feel like it's so competitive that it don't matter how much you have it's not enough. So heres whats to my application (havent taken TEAS yet but estimating)

3.5 GPA Anatomy, Physio, Micro

3.75 I think in other categories (psych, com etc.) I took AP Eng in HS so that kind of brought it down cause they now count our number grade for the AP exam into an actual grade which makes no sense... but I still can get full points cause its between 3.5-4.0 something like that.

CNA experience that meets hour requirements

AA Biology

Took Stats = points

Other circumstances I qualify for full points

Bilingual

TEAS 85-90% estimate.

Long story short I'd really appreciate if you can compare those of you who are accepted this fall (even if you gave up your spot too) so I can get an idea of what to expect/ if I'm headed in right direction. What were your grades/ TEAS scores like if you're comfortable. I just wany to know if I have cushion basically. I really want to get into nursing school. I also plan on applying to ohlone.

Thanks stay safe during these crazy times!

Hi Tatiana101,

I was on the same boat as you last year, I was so nervous and didn’t think I would get into nursing school the first try. After applying to a few schools, I got into 5 nursing programs (I was so surprised). I chose Chabot nursing program because of their NCLEX rating and I also spoke to a few students from the previous years.

My overall GPA was 3.61.

I had a A in anatomy, A in Microbiology, and a B in physiology.

TEAS: 89.3%

Bilingual

Statistics was a plus

And if I’m not mistaken “first generation” points. I did so many applications that I can’t recall.

Associates degree in Administration of justice, Natural Science/Mathematics.

Hope this helps! Good luck with everything.

Tatiana101,

I also came across some nursing programs are suspending their nursing programs for Fall 2020 and deferring them to Fall 2021. This may be more difficult for students to get into Nursing schools because of the suspensions of programs. I suggest to apply to as many programs that you can in order to have a higher chance.

Hi @tatiana101

My overall estimate from the application was 67

My overall GPA was 3.5.

I had 4.0 in science

TEAS: 72.7%

first-generation points

Associates degree in allied health.

I was placed on the waiting list and ended up getting in. Just like @Aidee1993 said I think it might be harder to get in since some schools are not taking applications for 2021 start. Best of luck!
