Guys, I'm very anxious about this year's lottery. I can't wait any longer.
My question is this: I do not live in the service area, but do I still have a fair chance like everyone else or does being in their area get the upper hand? Also, I checked my status on their class web and it says that my major is nursing. Does that mean anything too or is everyones major nursing?
Anyone else applied?

Yes, even though you live outside of the Chabot college district (as I do) you can be accepted. I've applied, and from what I recall, several other people from this board have applied too. I really thought they'd have sent out notifications by now, but I guess they meant it when they stated it would be after April 30th!

I haven't received any email from them.

I can't help but be anxious myself. The website now states by May 30th and to contact after June 15th, if we haven't received notification.

I don't think I can wait any longer!
Does anyone know how many first time applicants do they select?
To my knoweledge there is no difference whether you've applied once or 5 times. Everyone goes in the same pool one time only. Thats my understaing at least...
This wait is killing me too! I can't believe the date keeps getting pushed back. Ugh!
Those applying again have an advantage -their name gets placed in pool twice. I believe there are 60 out of pool and 60 for alternates

Hi everybody,
I keep reading comments about Chabot College favoring in-district applicants, but this info is not mentioned any where on their web site, I called the nursing office yesterday and they confirmed that it not true, all applicants get the same chance. hope this will bring relief to those who applied and live out of chabot's district. We should be notified by the end of May, she said they have 250 more applications to review compared to last year, that is why they pushed the notification date to end of may...Good luck to you all:)
Thanks for the update. These past few weeks have me full of anxiety. I think the district stipulate was for the previous years; that may explain why the increase in applications - its no longer a requirement.
Good luck!
I am glad this took some of your anxiety away, waiting alone is hard enough.
