Hello I did my Pcl nursing from Nepal and moved to USA and did my nclexRN from kansas state and passed it and now i moved to louisiana state so for endorsement of my license i need cgfns visa screen to be done and as i did that it says:
After a review of your education from TRIBHUVAN UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE, BIRATNAGAR , it was determined that your education does not currently meet the requirements of the program.
Not comparable program in the United States as the
applicant completed a total of thirteen years of primary,
secondary and nursing education. However, the
professional qualification that this program leads to is that
of a first-level general registered nurse in Nepal.
If you wish to continue to pursue CGFNS/ICHP VisaScreen® certification, you must fulfill the educational requirement by obtaining further education . In order to fulfill this requirement, please read the enclosed notice titled Steps to Completing the CGFNS Education Requirement.
what am i supposed to do now...please help....

The information you received from the board of nursing in Louisiana already told you what you need to do now. Each state has its own board of nursing, and each BON determines what it requires of an RN who wants to practice in that state. In the case of Kansas, you met their education requirements. In the case of Louisiana, you did not. It sounds like you moved first without finding out what would be needed to get a license from Louisiana, which is unfortunate but not impossible. Follow the directions they gave you to get the necessary education piece met, then reapply. Good luck!

Moved to the Nurse Registration forum for more replies.
Thank you for your reply..Actually how did they allow me to take NCLEX RN then?Does It mean they have evaluated my case as BSN otherwise at least i am equivalent to associate of US ,aren't I?My friend in the same state has already started working ..why only me?
thank you so much for your response..Is it possible that i request my college in Nepal to send academic transcript with minimum requirement hours now to cgfns?
You applied for a license from the state of Kansas, and it was the Kansas Board of Nursing that allowed you to take the NCLEX an it was Kansas that issued you a license to practice in Kansas. That license is valid for Kansas ONLY.
Now you want to practice in Louisiana. Which means that you apply to the Louisiana Board of Nursing (which you did) and they told you that they have higher education requirements for a nurse who wants a license to work in Louisiana. That's it. You do not have a license to practice anywhere in the US, you have to meet the requirements of each individual state. We do not have a Federal nursing license, only State ones.
Did your friend have the identical education you have and yet received a license to practice in Louisiana? Does she have a Louisiana nursing license? And did she do any additional courses in order to get that license?

Follow the directions they gave you.

Also the first CES professional report that i did says that I AM Comparable to the registration of a first-level general(Registered) nurse in the United States. and now they say not comparable...its very confusing...

The state can review and decide yes or no. You could try and appeal citing you had a license in another state
