You'll laugh, but this info is on http://www.cgfns.org. I've tried contacted with CEO of CGFNS and Heads of Departments and they hardly answered me. Believe me or not to contact them is to waste time.

You are right. I do strongly agree that contacting them is waste of time. However, I still have to "buy" their services like visa screen. It's frustrating.

As they used my money on another service without my request, I have to make a refund. However again, nobody take care my request (even though it's their fault). They claim that refund will take ~30 days. But it does take me 5 months already. Even claim my letters is not received. They are lying! Therefore, I am trying to contact the higher level staff. So, do you know how they call the top management? Should it be CEO/ Dean/ President etc? I've tried to check through the http://www.cgfns.org. I cannot find out this information. Could you also tell me where is such information indicated in their web site? I want to make my letter to be received by the right person. Anyway, thank you for your help.

When you on http://www.cgfns.org, click on link called "About CGFNS", there on the right side you'll see links, click on directory.

Dear wmarat,

Thank you so much!!! I can't believe that I've missed that directory. Thank you so much for your help, wholeheartedly. I can, at least, try to contact them now.

Dear suzanne4,

Tx for your concern. I failed to send out any PM so that I've sent an e-mail to you. I hope you can receive it. Thank you!

I'm hoping someone could advise me. I am currently undergoing CGFNS assessment. They told me my RN qualification (which I got in the UK) was good for any program. My problem is I trained 1979 to 1982 in the UK when training was on the ward. Since then my Nursing School has shut down and I can't find where my transcripts have moved to. I contacted the NMC who were no help. They sent all they could to CGFNS but they don't actually have my training records. Now CGFNS have let me take the exam (last March) BUT are now saying I'm stuck in review. Apparently the Board will sit again in about a month when they will relook at my application. MEANTIME if I do manage to scrape through the exam I can do no more!!! I REALLY need some advise here. Anyother UK nurses had similar problems? Anyone have ANY idea how I can get the CGFNS board to MOVE on my application!!!

CLOWNS.

I'm a foreign nurse recruiter and have spent $1000s on travel to 3600 market street on behalf of my applicants.

Unfortunately, I have to go there in hopes of pushing files along. I've also sent letters (with evidence) to their top executive - Dr. Phyllis Kritek - showing their mishaps as I've been extremely frustrated by their "service." Dr. Kritek seems unreachable as e-mail and mail is returned. I've called around to different places she supposedly works at... like to various schools of nursing. She's nowhere.

I received a letter from their Boards recently saying they know complaints have been made about their customer service - through government and media - and that they are striving to improve. Since that letter, I was there again... and guess what! The people who work there leave desks full of messy piles of YOUR files... and where are the CGFNS employees? They seem to be quite lax, roaming around finding other people to yap with. There's a very high turn over rate of employees. They are disorganized, impatient, and not trained. And to get anywhere on the phone is another adventure... One "customer service" employee told me that CGFNS issues visas. I didn't bother correcting him (that CGFNS issues visa screen certificates) because he hung up on me.

Since they don't have any competition in their exclusive field, we are forced to be suckers... Though BCIS's website has promulgated (several times) requests for proposals (from potential candidates) to provide these essential services.

The only good thing about the CGFNS nightmare is that it gets me more foreign nurse candidates. I tell the foreign nurses that I'll deal with the headache so they don't have to. Not that I've gotten far! They avoid me like the plague and still, it takes a lot to get them to do anything efficiently or effectively. Their mistakes can make you lose valuable time... which is quite frightening and costly. If they ever become responsible and caring people, there's going to need to be a major change from the highest end up.

Good luck!

1. Was your program based in a hospital, back then many of the programs were......................if so, the hospital will actually have a copy. I personally had the same problem in the US. My school closed the year after I graduated, but I still have no problems getting records, I just have to allow a few weeks for them to arrive.

2. when you graduated from school, your school actually would have sent a copy of your transcripts to the nursing board for your licensure. I believe it is called the NMC in the UK. You can have them check your original file.

Hope that this helps.................. :balloons:

I nearly had that problem as I trained in 86 at a hospital and my school of nursing closed and became part of the university. When I spoke to them last year they told me that my transcripts had been sent to the NMC and I would have to request them for it. My lucky break was that a couple of yrs before I had applied for my transcripts for NY BON and a copy had been put in my university file as I had done a conversion course with them.

Hope you manage to get it sorted out. Give the NMC another go or maybe check with the university that now does the nurse training. I know that when nursing schools closed all transcripts was initially sent to them.

I hope that this isn't the way that you normally do business. Scary thought. It is much easier to get people to help you when you are polite and civil to them and not rude. I work with CGFNS all of the time because of my students. I work and live in Bangkok, Thailand and never once have had to make a trip over to Market Street for anything. Any request I make gets handled appropriately and on time. I send all documents only by courier service as I do not trust the mail system over here, and have never had one item not received.

With your attitude I wouldn't want to help you either. But, I forgot, this is your business to be in a "people service" arena. All I can say is Thank g-d that you are in Europe and not over here, because I would definitely steer my students away from you.

Sorry..........................and you are not even a nurse.. :uhoh21:
