CGFNS-CVS New York process ?

Hi,

I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.

I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.

Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.

However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point.. :(

How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?

Please kindly suggest me !!!

I have also finished my nursing course in India.I m currently applying for RN in Newyork...can you please tell me what do you mean by this Major/Concentration in the application form 1 on page 2?Also should i fill and sent the form 3? please help me

hi there new here... i just applied cgfns cvs and they already sent docs to my school and prc. my school already received it and they currently processing it. i don't know how the prc process works? can anyone help me or give me any idea how the prc process my cgfns-cvs? do i need to do anything or pay anything to prc? thanks so much!!!

you don't have to pay for anything else. CGFNS will be the one requesting the papers from both your school and prc

Is NY still open to foreign nurses? Will there be no concurrency issue?

hi im interested about applying in NY licensure, im exploring my other options aside california.. does NY affected with this Concurrency issues? and do they require any english profiency to apply for the exam? thank you so much! :)

I'll be graduating on the 23rd .. and I'm planning on applying for licensure in New York... has anyone heard of someone being rejected there because of concurrency issues? I'm anxious because I read somewhere that more states are thinking about following CABRN's example...

I also applied for a NY-CVS and have I not called the school, I would not know that they did not process it since payment enclosed by CGFNS is not enough for printing my transcript and mailing fee. It is a must that you call the school and ask them for the status of the verification.

My problem is that PRC still did not receive the validation form. CGFNS email correspondence said that the validation form for the licensing body was sent since Jan. 2, 2014.

If CGFNS mailed the documents, should it not be received by PRC already? The school already did.

What should I do in this regard?

Do I need to go to PRC?

Hi! I just wanted to ask regarding your application form, did you write anything on it? I was just wondering because the address were blank when I sent my applications. Licensing authority and address were blank :(((

Iam completed my Bachelors of Nursing from India on july 2013 ,currently Iam in Newyork and when iam going through the credential verification process using CGFNS CVS services,noted that its mandatory to fill the licensure no. or the registartion number. Right now, i dont have any registation / licensure number.It will take some more time to get my Degree certificate / Registation certificate, because of its issuing & proccessing time from the university.

When i go through some posts , I was really confused ... Is it mandatory to fill the registration/licensure no. in the verification process or i have to wait till i get those certificates & numbers.

Secondly regarding the transcript.... I have to apply for the transcript from the college or CGFNS?? the money needed to pay for the transcript is done by whom? if i already payed the money for transcript then how it will work?? Ihave to reapply for the transcript or not?

PLEASE KINDLY SUGGEST ME

If you have paid CGFNS for CVS then you do nothing else as CGFNS do all the information gathering

Sorry for replying this late. I have utilized NEAC services when I applied, so all my forms are filled by the agency. All I did was to sign and had it notarized. I cannot remember if I saw an address there for the school and for the PRC. I cannot be of help in this query of yours. :(

Hi! I'm a bit confused on where is the best place to post this question. I'm pretty sure this must have been asked around here somewhere (I really just couldn't find it).

I started my CVS application awhile back and noted that the dates on my educational background were automatically filled out. For example, I entered in June 2003-March 2007 and on the forms I am about to print out, it says June 1, 2003-March 1, 2007. This is not accurate as the dates on my transcript is different. Is there a way for me to change these dates, except manually? I am planning on photoshopping it. LOL I just don't want it to cause any unnecessary delays."
