I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?
Yes download form 1, and go to your school if they have received a document from cgfns, if yes I think you are the one who will pay for the sending fee from school. and make sure $143 is made payable to new york/ money order.
Yes we are done with those seminars and fees, thats the first steps we took and completed before proceeding to cgfns and now we are also done completing the requirements for cgfns and I received an email that they submitted it to nysed. So for now I just need to wait for the nysed to contact me or send an email that I could proceed to the next step?
Oh dear , it takes much longer than 6 weeks. For me it took 1 year after the cgfns and all the proper paper work before NYS approved me to sit for NCLEX. Every case is different , but for me it definitely took long time. And I was calling, emailing every week.

they did not send me any emails, I was calling them every week and they told me they received my paperwork. Over the phone . Not sure about deficiencies for NYS

You can call NYSED hotline and confirm if they have receive from CGFNS. And you can ask the next step directly to them.
how long the file remains in COMPED before it approves the school credentials and forwards it back to The Profession of Nursing unit?
I emailed them a couple of times to update me. They told me that there's exactly no time frame cos it will depend on the volume of applicants on a certain time. I know someone who got it for 4 weeks. For mine, it took 11 weeks to finally receive my ATT. It depends on the volume of applicants.

They will not email you. Just use the CONTACT US page in their site. That's what I did and they'll reply to you. Once they will reply you initially, you can ask them anything you have questions about.
Just wanted to confirm if how long does the CGFNS CVS process take? I filled for application last January 2020, completed my requirements last February. aaaaaand COVID happened. ?
Then I received an email from CGFNS that my school docs has been forwarded to NYSED last August. My status still says "WAITING FOR INITIAL DOCUMENTATION" on the Transcript Validation Form area. I tried to follow up on the status, got the reply that the issue has been escalated to a manager gave me a 3-5 day TAT. But up until now, there was no response. I think it's my 8th month of waiting already. LOL I don't know what to do. Do they usually tell you what to do next/ give you instructions after submitting all the requirements?

And also ask NYSED if you can take the seminars while waiting. I can't remember when I took mine earlier before they told me to do so.
