Hi,
I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?
Please kindly suggest me !!!
Yes I understand what you wrote. And thank you so much for the reply.but i meant that, theres still one document my licensing authority hasnt mailed to cgfns yet and my time is so so due.i'm scared my order will be terminated. I hope you understand me now?
Your order will not be terminated. As mentioned everything will be sent by CGFNS once time is up and the BON will then make the decision on whether you need to arrange to send any missing documents
Ok. Thats abit of a relief to hear that.
But i was hoping that when cgfns start to review my documents,I would then send in the BON application.i have up to march 19,to send all documents to cgfns, which seems so close.
Would you advise i send in the BON application now then?thank u so much

For cvs and New York CGFNS is required to obtain relevant documents within 6 months and then send everything they receive to the BON. The BON meets once a month to review international applications so a lot depends where in the month your application is sent to whether you wait one or two months for reply from the state to other documents required or the OK to sit NCLEX. If not already done so send in application to the state so everything is ready
I have a question regarding CVS, I graduated from the Philippines last May 2018 and I was informed by a friend that for the CVS in NY state I dont need to have a license from the country I graduated Nursing in, but now when I am answering the questions in Step 4 for CVS it is asking me for a license. It says "At least one license is required for this order." Was this a recent change?
Thank you in advance.
