I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?
I just want to ask how long did you wait because i mailed the COMPED they said my application was approved 2 weeks ago how long it will take to received the letter of eligibility thank you for the answer
My file was forwarded already to the bureau of comparative education (COMPED) for the review of my school record. They are still processing February files right now due to backlog . Anybody knows how long the file remains in COMPED before it approves the school credentials and forwards it back to The Profession of Nursing unit? When does the once a month meeting of the dept of Nursing take place here... before the COMPED part or after the COMPED part?
This is so confusing. With CVS for NY, is there a form solely for the transcript info. to be filled? Because I realised with me,the documents i printed were so straight forward whereas forms printed for other states looked so detailed and cumbersome.
I am just looking for a right advice about my career. I am an Indian Bsc Graduate Registered Nurse and having total experience of 6 years. I have done ilets in general module and PTE in academic test too which is equal to ilets test. I want to work in USA. Can someone advise that which state can give some leverage while getting registered or which state is quite easier than other states where I can get registered myself as Licensed Nurse? Quick response will be appreciated.

With other states using CES,their forms have transcript verification and authorization forms ..CVS looked too simple.I don't know weather there are other forms cgfns will mail to my school and licensing authority whereas i send another form to the school by myself??

CVS is a service that CGFNS supplies for NY and requires CGFNS to obtain all relevant documents. NY will then review the documents and make their own report on whether requirements are met. Just complete paperwork as directed
Good day everyone! Im new here and new to the CGFNS processing. I just want to ask if you guys needed to renew your licenses for the CVS. My license expired last October and I was wondering if renewal is needed before they release/send the requirements to CGFNS. thank you
I have some questions about the CGFNS Credential Verification Service for New York State (CVS). I have already applied and received a confirmation that my docs has been reported and submitted to the "New York State Education Board?" It was also advised that all my docs has been successfully verified. Im lost as to what would be the next step. I am an American Citizen currently residing in the Philippines and has graduated in the Philippines as well. I am also a PH licensed nurse. I literally don't have a clue as what to do next.
