I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?
Im processing my license validation right now. Form i think is in the correspondence tab. Its for a foreign graduate whose carrying a license from their home country. Submit license validation forms to the license giving body in your country and they will do the rest.

If i may ask, after sending out the license authorization forms to your licensing authority in your country,were you notified by cgfns to send the validation forms,or you just went ahead and printed the validation forms and sent them to the appropriate offices for processing?

I just printed out everything. I have a representative who does all the processing and paperworks in my home country. Just presented the printed request from cgfns. Im still waiting for the assessment to get done. They said it would take 3 working days. Then they will process the needed validation of license for NY/CGFNS.

I'm sure what got me confused is the fact that,cgfns always sent notification that,"notary has been received,authorization form has been received,bla bla".... but they never notified me to send the "validation forms " even though its stated there that,"waiting to be received ".... so i was relaxed waiting to be notified for the validation forms.
Ok,then I'll just go ahead and print the validation forms out and send them to the appropriate offices for processing and mailing to cgfns.
I honestly wish i had gone on wth a representative.
If you have a friend who can do it for you/ former classmate or relative, you can ask them to drop it off. Its easier with a representative since they do followups and the school speeds up the processing for documents. What country did you take your bsn?

CGFNS will send everything they have after 6 months to NY who in turn will review everything and let you know what else is required and you can arrange for it to be sent straight to the BON
