CES for Illinois

Published

It is stated in my request for academic records form that my education is in 100% english. Will they exempt me from taking the toefl?

If they will state in my ces report that i am exempted to take toefl then does it mean that i am already illegible to apply for illinois licensure without taking toefl?

pls enlighten me.. thanks..

BON may require TOEFL... be sure to check with them.

As for Visa Screen, you can just use IELTS.

the 100% English education will be very helpful in passing either exam without paying tons of money for a review. All the same, it might help to get some one-on-one time with a native speaker to increase your English confidence.

Spoken English is the one area where Pinoys have the most difficulty. Not because you don't know it; but because you don't have confidence in your knowledge. You have to break out of that shyness.

I have moved this thread to the International Forum since it is specific to working in the US.

As per the Illinos Board, if your training was 100% in English and documented as such on your records, then you are exempt from having to write the English exams before receiving permission to test. The requirement is wived for you.

CES is an evaluation tool, and it has its requirements based on the state that you are applying to.

However, you will need to have the series of English exams to get the Visa Screen Certificate as that is needed for immigration purposes.
